Forbidden Love (A Legolas x Aragorn story)

Chapter 17

Legolas sighed. Sometimes he felt like he just wanted Aragorn to ride out of the glade, get down on one knee and profess his eternal love.

But that would never happen. Aragorn and Arwen were meant to be together and Legolas did not want to be in the way.

The blonde elf buried his head in his hands as he felt the tears filling in his eyes. The mossy stone bench that he sat on soaked up the single tear as it dripped from his eye.

Aragorn. Aragorn. Aragorn.

His name circulated around the elf's head like a mantra. Legolas thought of Aragorn when he went to sleep, when he woke, when he went riding and when especially times like now when the brown haired male was the only thing on Legolas' mind.

The mere thought of the human brought tears to Legolas' eyes. How could someone fall in love so fast?

"Legolas, ion-nîn, come here," Legolas looked up to see his father standing there, pain in his eyes. "Do not succumb to the pain. You must fight it and stay strong. I could not bear to lose you, ion-nîn."

The two elves stared at each other before the younger male pulled his father into a tight, emotional embrace. "It gets better, ion-nîn," Thranduil whispered softly. "You are strong."

Aragorn knew what he had to do. He was so much in love with Legolas that it hurt. "I am coming, meleth," he whispered before squeezing Brego's flanks and setting off into the sunrise.

It's short as hell I'm sorry but it seemed a good stopping place.

I really need to apologise - I've had exams :( the motivation to write is something I really struggle with which is why I have sometimes devoted chapters to people who have motivated me :)
