Writer's Block (A Fairy Tail fanfic starring my favorite ship, NaLu!)

The Park

A few hours later, Lucy was sitting beneath the giant oak tree in the middle of the park. Her writing notebook was was tucked securely between her arms and her pencil was resting behind her ear. She was ready to write.

A few minutes ticked by, when she heard a familiar voice.

"Lucy! There you are!"

A familiar pinkette plopped down next to her, signature grin already in place.

"Hi. I thought that you wouldn't be able to make it." Lucy breathed, smiling back. This scene felt so natural. Two people, a boy and a girl, sitting in a tree....WAIT A SECOND...AGGGH..NO..NEVER MIND. HER AND NATSU?! PLEASE.

"Hey, Luce? You alright? Your face is red."

"H-huh? I'm fine. Shall we begin?"

Without waiting for an answer, Lucy flipped to a page in her notebook where the questions she'd made were written.

"Mmkay, so question number 1: What was her name?"

"Lisanna." Natsu replied. Was it Lucy's imagination, or did Natsu sound...sad?

Lucy wrote down his answer, then moved on to the next question.

"Describe her. Like, what was she like? What did she look like?"

"Um, well, she was...very gentle. Kind. And she loved animals."

Natsu's expression was almost mournful, but he forced on a smile anyways.

"She had white hair and these big, beautiful blue eyes," he continued, "And she hated it when I snuck up on her. She always said that I'd give her a heart attack someday."

"You must've loved her a lot. And you used the term 'was'. Is she different now?"

"She's dead." Natsu replied, his body tensing.

"Oh. I-I'm sorry."

"Don't be. You didn't kill her, did ya?"

Lucy flushed and twirled her pencil idly around her finger.

"If you don't mind me asking, how did she die?"

Natsu was silent.

Oh crap, wrong question. YOU'RE SO STUPID LUCY!!! AGH OF ALL THE QUESTIONS TO ASK HIM, UGHUGHUGHUG-

"No, I don't mind. She got hit by a car. It was so sudden, y'know? Some lives end so quietly and peacefully, and hers was just...just like that. Maybe if she'd crossed the street a minute later or earlier, she would've still been alive. I don't think it was how she wanted to die, but sometimes you don't get a say in how you want to go. Mirajane, she's Lisanna's sister by the way, was devastated. Elfman was even worse because...because he was driving that car. It was the middle of the night and he was drunk. He didn't see her, and by the time he realized he hit something, it was too late."

"Oh god..that's awful. Mira and Elfman were related to her?"

"Yeah. It was a terrible day for everybody."

"When did it happen?"

"Last year. Her anniversary is next month."

"Oh gosh...it must've been hard for everyone, huh?"

"Don't worry about it Luce. Any more questions?"

"No. It's getting late. I should head home."

"Yeah, I should get going too."

Lucy had just started walking when she realized Natsu's scarf was still wound around her neck.

"Hey Natsu! Your scarf!"

"Keep it!" He shouted back.

Lucy shrugged, and continued on her way. Besides, she liked his scarf. It kept her warm, and there was this spicy, warm smell that was just so Natsu.

Back at her house, Lucy was once again caught in a rut. She'd managed to get a few pages done, but now she was definitely stuck. But one thing that really bothered Lucy was the paragraph she'd written yesterday...it was about the girl getting hit by the car. It bothered her. Was it some strange coincidence that Lisanna too had been hit by a car, but with a more grisly outcome? Lucy shivered, then decided to call it quits for today.

She flopped down on her bed, when she noticed Natsu's white checkered scarf draped over the bedpost.

"Hmm, I should return it to him tomorrow," she mumbled, twining the soft scarf around her hand. She pulled the covers over herself and turned off the lights. She fell asleep with Natsu's scarf clutched tightly to her chest.

A/N: Thanks for the reviews y'all posted. I'm sorry that I couldn't get to replying to them! Pwease forgive meee. But anyways, I'm glad that you all liked the story (so far). Sorry for the Nali, cuz I did promise a Nalu fic, but i SWEAR ON THE RIVER STYX that more NaLu is to come. :)
