For the longest time, I was very lonely in school. But I had moved this year and hoped that I could make some friends at my new school.
"Are you ready for your first day of school, Rose?" My mom was calling me from downstairs.
"Yeah, just give me a minute" I stuffed some notebooks into my backpack and put on my shoes before rushing downstairs. My mom had decided to drive me there for my first day.
"Alright, do you have everything?" She asked.
"Yeah, don't worry yourself, mom"
"It's your first day, I think I have the right to worry"
"Mooooooooooooooommmmmmmmm" I groaned "I'm not a little kid anymore! I'm going to highschool!"
"I know, I know. If you're ready, go ahead and get in the car. I'll be out in a sec"
"Ok then" I say as I walk outside and get in the white minivan my mom drives. As soon as I'm in the car, I breathe a sigh of relief and let the smile fall from my face for a brief moment.
"Alright Rose, time to go" my mom said as she got in the car and I resumed my false smile.
I waited quietly in the car as my mom drove to school and parked in the front.
"I'll see you after school, do you want to ride the bus or do you want me to pick you up?"
"I'll ride the bus, thanks for driving me, mom"
"Love you!"
"Love you too," I say as I get out with my backpack. As soon as she starts driving away, I look around and sigh. Doesn't look much different from the highschool in my old city.(To be continued)
