I grab my canvas bag and run out of my dorm room, checking myself in the mirror before I leave. I was wearing one of Mandy's many flower patterned dresses with red roses and a black background. She had told me to wear it with some kind of jacket in case I get cold so I decided to wear my cropped leather jacket that I bought the day I moved in. I stuck with my classic brown boots and added just a few rings on my fingers and a plain necklace. My hair pulled back in a fishtail braid done magnificently within ten minutes.

I feel my phone go off in my pocket and I see an urgent message from Larissa who informs me that she's been waiting outside the dorms for an hour. Doubt it. I throw my bag over my shoulder and leave my dorm, locking it behind me. I decide to take the stairs, after all I was only on the fifth floor. Once I reach the lobby, I see Larissa standing outside of the doors. She waves her hands in the air and signals for me to come out. I sign out on the sheet and push through the double doors.

I run into Larissa's outstretched arms and she swings me around. "Man, you take forever to get ready!" She says.

"Me? Oh come on, you're the one with super human speed!" We begin our walk over to Mile's dorm.

"I don't think it's super human speed, it's just the fact that I was blessed with great looks. I have my parents to thank for that." She laughs,

Both of Larissa's parents were from Japan and they moved over to Oregon when her mom was pregnant with her. Since then, they've had another beautiful baby boy who's now just beginning high school.

"How much do you want to bet that Miles still isn't even ready yet?" I joke.

"I don't know, I mean he does wait to do everything last minute but it takes him like five minutes or maybe even less to get ready every morning."

"And how would you know that?" I raise an eyebrow at her.

"Oh stop it!" She laughs.

As we walk up the steps of Mile's dorm, we see him walking out of the doors. "Miles!" I wave my hand.

"Hey!" He jogs down the steps and walks back down the stairs with us. "You guys are right on time, for a change." He says.

"Yeah, thank God!" I say, "Imagine if we kept Mandy waiting!"

"Unthinkable!" Larissa says dramatically.

We make our way to where Mandy said she'd meet us; parked right on the curb next to one of the student parking lots. As we get closer, Miles and Larissa decide to have a race which I don't partake in. I see them rush ahead up the hill and I trudge behind, listening to their laughter grow distant. As I make it to the top of the hill, I hear someone faintly calling my name, I turn around to try to see if it was Miles or Larissa, but they had disappeared out of sight.

I finally look down to see a figure trekking up the steps. Her inky black hair is longer than I remember and it's as straight as a pin. Her face is covered by an oversized pair of sunglasses and her lips are painted red. She seems to have gained a little more weight, at least her chest seems a little bigger and there's more curves to her shape. When she finally reaches me, she pushes her sunglasses to the top of her head and squints at the sudden brightness.

"Hey... um... long time, no see, I guess." She scratches the back of her neck, uncomfortably.

"Yeah..." I shake my head in awe, "I didn't think I'd run into you here."

"Yeah, neither did I." She states, awkwardly.

I hear laughter coming from behind me and soon enough, Larissa is hanging on my shoulder. "Hey, we lost you—oh, hey!" She notices her standing there and waves.
