Thump!

I woke up in the nicest way possible. Falling down the sofa because a certain someone felt like spreading. 

"Alex! You're not supposed to spread like that you oaf!" 

"Let's never sleep on the couch again." he said groggily, rubbing his eyes. 

My phone told me it was 6:40 which meant I had twenty minutes to get ready and reach school. Both of us rushed here and there , falling a couple of times in the process but we finally managed to reach school on time. 

"First period , Biology." I said 

"I've got Maths." Alex groaned.

"Lucky you" I laughed before going to my class.

I made it to my seat, only to find a blue eyed someone grinning at me. 

"Been a while since I saw you , eh?" Xavier grinned.

"ThankGod for that." I said brushing off the giddiness that I felt when I was near him. 

"Oh love. Why do you even try to hide it?We both know you're falling for me." he smirked. 

Was I that transparent? 

"You wish prettyboy." 

"I'll take that as a compliment." he said and just then our teacher entered the class. 

"From today, you and your partner will be working on a project that will mark your grade for this semester. Each pair will make a presentation about the human body and it's systems. I want a full in depth fact file and don't take this lightly because it will determine your final grade. Right now you can decide which parts of the body and which systems you want to cover."

"You do realize that this project will take a lot of hard work right. I can't mess up Biology- , I started to say when he cut me off,

"-because you're parents want you to be a doctor. I get it. And believe it or not , I don't like failing my classes either so let's just start with it." 

"Hm. Wow. I am impressed." I said giving him an impressed look.

"That was the goal ,sweetheart." He grinned making me scowl.

"Can you just not be so , so flirty and gorgeous for one second!" I said frustrated then widened my eyes when I realized what I had just said. 

He laughed. That stupid laugh that made my heart melt.

"You know for a person who's falling for me , you do have a very funny way of showing it." 

"Shutup. I am not falling for you!" I scowled making him laugh even more. I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks. My face was probably a tomato. 

"Yes it does look like a tomato." he grinned

Crap. Did I just say that out loud. Just then our teacher cam up to us and said, 

"Well well well. Elizabeth Carter and Xavier Adams. I see you have something rather funny to discuss than focus on your project. I don't expect this non-serious attitude from you Miss Carter."  with a look of disapproval. 

"Sorry sir. But Miss Carter here can't stop making puns about the human body. She's not letting me focus." Xavier said. That jerk!

"No sir! H-he was the one distracting me!" I said defensively feeling like a little child. 

"I will let this behavior pass for once because you are my top student Miss Carter. But if this happens again then you will get detention. As for you Mr. Adams , I'd say you look out the next time. Being new doesn't give you a free pass. Now I would like to see you both get back to work." he said with a finality in his tone that left no space for questions.
