Alaska was moving fast and wildly through the wilderness. We'd finally stopped to rest and she bounced on her heels, her red hair flipping around. We sat around when the grunting started.

Ratchet had gone off to pee when all of a sudden he came running through the crowd. "What the hell is that thing?"

We turned to see a big four legged creature bounding after him.

"It's a bear!" Alaska called, moving towards the "bear."

My heart stopped. "Alaska!" I called. She stopped about 20 feet from it. It wasn't paying attention to her though. Maia had tripped over something and the bear was nearly on top of her.

"Help me!" Maia screamed as she thrashed about. The beat lunged forward, and her screams were cut off.

"Run!" Alaska yelled. And thats what we did.

That was the last time we saw Maia.
