Under The Waters

"Happy birthday!" my parents charge back into my room for the third time today while I was getting ready for the beach.

"Moom.... Daaad... I need to change before we go! can I finish BEFORE you charge in?" I laugh as I throw on my cover-up over my swim suit.

"You wanna invite you boyfriend to come to the beach with us?" my mom asks as I throw my iPhone and my book, Distant Waves, into my bag. What could be better?

"Naw mum, hehe, I just wanna go with ya and dad," as we head down the stairs. A day at the beach, on my birthday, with my parents, amazing!

"What are we doing first? Swimming? tanning? eating? reading?" I ask as we pull up. we live fairly close, meaning like almost a block.

"Whatever the birthday girl wants!" my dad says as he looks at me through his rear-view mirror. I stare at his blue eyes and black hair. I see why my mom picked him. then I look at my mom and her green eyes and red hair. she reminds me of Amy Pond, from Doctor Who. I'm a big Whovian...
We got out to set up an umbrella, towels, and chairs. and also set out our picnic. "Lets eat first. I'm starving!" I say as my stomach growls. Great sound effects...

"Ok sweetie," my dad says.
After we devour the delicious food, my parents go into the ocean, while I found a sign for free surf lessons. Interesting... So I decided to try it.

"Is this where the surf lessons are?" I ask a lengthy stranger.

"Yep. I'll be teaching you. I'm Austin. and you are?"

"I'm Madison."

"First time?"

"Yea, is it, scary?"

"A little at first, but it's pretty fun. You ready?"

"Ok, I think I'm ready."

"Cool. so let's start!"
