A Face for Their Demons

When they break,
They make mistakes,
Tearing down everyone
In their wake.

They don't spare me or anyone,
And shield themselves from some.
They feel alone and defeated,
Like their demons have won.

Their Demons are also mine,
I only try not to mind.
They think I'm too young
That I don't know; that I'm fine.

It seems to me, they exchanged
My face for their demons,
I took the blame and
Now their demons can be hanged.

When they broke,
They made mistakes,
Tearing me apart
With their words; a single stroke.

They don't spare me or anyone,
And shield themselves from some.
They feel alone and defeated,
Like I have won.

But their Demons were also mine!
I only tried not to mind...
They thought I was too young
That I didn't know; that I was fine.

Now, I'm hung in my false guilt.
Gasping for air and help.
I was just a kid, now I've grown.
Oh, the demons in me they built
