Lisa POV
I laughed, shaking my head at Jennie. I couldn't see her since she was pushing me home, but it was still a very enjoyable story. "Wait, so you slipped on a banana peel in front of the one boy that was actually gonna ask you out?"
"Yeah. I'm stupid, aren't I?"
"Well, no. Maybe you should just remember to throw out the banana peel." Jennie giggled, and I smiled. She slowed down as she pushed my chair over a crack in the sidewalk. "You okay?"
"Mmm hmm," I nodded, keeping a hold of the plastic bag on my lap. Inside held three jars of cake frosting; chocolate and vanilla. I have no idea why she bought so much frosting but I'm just gonna go with it.When we got to my building, she pushed the blue button and the doors opened, and she pushed me into the lobby. "I got it from here."
"No no, it's okay, Lisa."
"Jennie I-"
"Ms. Manoban, you cannot kick me out of my own building."
"You live here now?!" I say, surprised.
"Well I did say I was moving," She smirked, and I shook my head."Hi, Jack," I said to the security guard behind the big desk. He nodded and opened the gate. Lisa pushed me toward the elevators. "So what floor?"
"27J," Jennie said happily. "Wow, stalker. I live on 28C," I replied. The one of the elevators opened and we went in. She pushed the 28 button. "Excuse me, Ms. Kim, but I do not believe you were invited over."
"Oops," Jennie chuckled. We made it out the elevator, past a few apartments until we got to mine. Jennie knocked on my door a few times before my mom opened it. "Hi Lisa- and Jennie, hi. Nice to see you," mom smiled, giving me a 'did you actually make a friend?' look.
"Hello, Ms. Manoban," Jennie smiled. "I hope you don't mind me coming here so unexpected."
"Oh, no, it's fine," My mother said with a smile. "Do you girls need anything?"I was about to say no before Jennie interrupted. "Actually, yes. Can we have two spoons and a few napkins?" My mom nodded, giving her what she needed.
"So which way to your room?"
I smirked, pointing which way we had to go. We got to my room and she took the bag from my lap, taking out the three frosting filled jars."Here," Jennie said, handing me a spoon and sitting on my bed. "What flavor?"
"Um, chocolate," she opened the jar for me and passed it to me. "So."
"So," I copied Jennie.
"Tell me..." She opened her vanilla frosting and dipped in her spoon, slowly licking it. I bit my lip. "Tell me about yourself."
"What?"
"Like, I don't know. So it doesn't seem like I'm in a stranger's house," she paused. "Since we aren't friends.""Oh, I get it," I took my first lick of frosting. "You mean this," I pointed to my wheelchair. "When I was born... I was diagnosed with SMA- Look it up to know what it stands for. It's a muscle disease. They told my parents I... wasn't going to make it."
"Oh my god," Jennie dropped her spoon into her frosting."It's okay. I'm here, right?" I smiled. "Anyway, I didn't go to school after second grade because I would continuously catch colds from the other kids. But for me, getting colds can lead to anything. Hospitalized, pneumonia, lung collapse. My left lung is so damaged only my right one is functional- So, I caught a cold and was in the hospital for the whole second grade. I got left back and my mom pulled me out."
"Wow, Lisa," she shook her head. "I had no idea..."
"It's whatever. I haven't been to the hospital in so long, I swear, it's a record."
"Yay," Jennie said happily. "Here, have some vanilla frosting for being so strong," she offered. I wheeled my chair over to my bed and grabbed her spoon, licking it slowly, savoring the taste. But not only the frosting, the taste of her mouth that was on the cold, sticky spoon.I notice she's watching intensely.
Before I know it her hand is cupping my cheek, pressing her lips against mine.
"What the- did- you just kiss me, Jennie ?!"Hi guys...how was your day?
