I will never understand

  A short Mira x Laxus because they look good together ^^

the bartender tapped her empty glass in a rhythm against the wooden counter, feeling quite lonley on this especially quiet day. Her eyes wandered around the room until they settled on a man leaned back in his chair, eyes closed wearing and expression of serenity. As soon as he felt eyes on him one of his own shot open surprising her as she quickly averted her gaze elsewhere. A smile played on his lips as he slowly closed his eyes once more.

"fast, just not fast enough." he whispered, barely audible, wearing a cute smile on his lips. This had brought a smile to her own face.

"Is the great Laxus challenging me?" she asked, placing the empty glass gingerly back on the table. He had heard her and somehow he couldn't stop himself from grinning, it had always happened, even during their childhood, during the worst arguments she had always unintentionally brought a grin to his face.

"Maybe, I am." Laxus replied hopping up on to his two feet, enjoying the conversation before him. He had always liked the way she had called him 'Laxus' instead of Makarov's grandson, the last thing he wanted was his gramps reputation, yes having that sort of reputation was nice, but he wanted to create his own. She sensed his confidence growing and smirked.

"I suppose someone's getting a bit cocky?" she teased, but remained seated in her spot. He walked towards her, smiling and plopped down beside her. For a second he studied her, his expression growing slightly serious.

"Hey, Mira do-"

The guild door burst open, Erza and Lucy had walked in, surprising Mira and Laxus. Mira had looked slightly flushed, and it had not gone unnoticed by Erza, bringing a small smirk to her face.

"Lucy? I forgot something at home, do you mind coming with me?" Erza asked, but Mira had seen right through this, and slightly turned her head hoping it would hide her growing blush. Before Erza had walked out the door she had thrown a smirk in Mira's direction. Earning a glare from Mira, a confused Laxus watched the two have their own conversation without words. Girl's, something he would never come to understand.
