"Grandma! Grandpa!"

I call out for them so many times, but I never got the answer that I wanted. I would never hear my grandmother's calming voice again. I will never feel reassured by my grandfather's presence again. This was it, this is what they had prepared for their entire lives. This is what they prepared my brother and I for. He is gone and nowhere to be found. My grandparents probably didn't even make it the first four hours. I don't have any family left.

Brynn: "Olivia!" I hear my best friend's frantic screaming through the heavyset door

Olivia: "Brynn!" I yell, running to the front door as fast as possible. I pull her into the house even faster and hug her tightly

Olivia: "I thought you were dead." I say, beginning to cry.

Brynn: "Why would you think I was dead? I came here right when I heard what was going on" She says, beginning to cry like I am.
