Elsa's POV :

Year :4060 A.D.

"Wake up Elsa !Mark is already up ." I heard a loud bang at my room's door.Mama was yelling .It has become her routine to wake me up with this kind of yelling.

"Alright ,I'm up,could you please just stop yelling." I groaned .

I stood up .I went to our communal bathroom. Sluggishly I changed into my blue frock-that was my only colored dress .Today was our "national existence day ".So we all (I mean me and my family ) had to go to the " Gathering Hall'' for the celebrations.

Celebrating our bounded caged existence !

They called us Living DEAD .And in one sense ,they were right .We can't breathe without our oxygen masks.I braided my long chestnut hair, throwing a usual glance over myself,I put the comb back and walked down to the kitchen.

"Happy existence day Mum."I kissed her cheek and sat at my seat.We had a small dining table in our kitchen.Mark was reading some book.He gave me a quick look and small smile.

"What you're reading ?''I asked.

"The Apocalypse by Derek Albert ."He said.

"Oh wow,I have just finished this book couple of weeks ago and I'm just so much in love with this book ."I poured water in my glass .

"This book seems a masterpiece among the books regarding The Great War."he said.

"Yeah indeed it is,I mean how can an invader write a book like this  honestly?I mean the content is very brutally honest."I gulped down water in one sip .

"What?An invader wrote this?''He looked shocked .

"Yeah ,I have researched on it .Derek Albert is from Sector 22 . " I said.

Mama placed the breakfast in front of us.I started to eat.

"What sector 22?That is  just 10 miles away from here. Was he banished from his society?" He asked.

"Well ,I guess you haven't read the ending of that book yet ?Read it then you'll know why he hasn't got banished ." I looked at  the dry bread disapprovingly .

"Hmm.But I really like the writer's POV ." My brother looked impressed by Derek Albert .

"Mum why we have to eat this usual breakfast of dry bread and hot water today?" I complained .

"You know the invaders have raised the costs so high .Don't worry I have saved some money ,also I'm going to get my pay today from the store ,so I'll make something nice in dinner."My mum said ,while she was hurriedly eating her breakfast.

In my family ,everyone works .Mum,mark and me.Mum used to work at a small store .Mark and me ,both study. He used to do night shifts at the Iron Bars ,that basically separates us and the sectors of invaders .Yeah, its quite risky ,but he got nice money for that job .I used to work in a library after school .The salary that they give is almost negligible .It hardly fulfills my needs .But I love books and that's why I love to work there. On weekends I do work at Cafe22,a local cafeteria  right across the Gathering Hall.Cafe22 offers nice money as my service is efficient and quick .I have been working here for couple of years so I'm pretty much adjusted here .

I was munching that bread sluggishly when I heard Mark saying something to me .

"Are you going to library today?"He asked .

"No,its closed today. But I'm gonna do overtime at CAFE 22 after the gathering at Hall ."I said .

He nodded and shifted his attention towards his breakfast.

" El and Mark ,listen to me carefully."Mum was looking at us.

She looked worried .Our glances interacted and then she said,

"Yesterday ,Zoe Tollinson was telling that couple of kids of "waterwale "were taken up by the invaders."

Zoe tollinson was the owner of store where mum works. She is famous for authentic news .So anything from her mouth means 100% valid .

Waterwale is a small town near our town .I remember I used to visit that town very often with my Dad..

Dad....my eyes got blurry .I closed my eyes to hold back the rushing flood of tears.

"All I'm trying to say is that be very careful when you go outside .After your work ,just come straight back to home.Okay?" She rested her hand on mine to soothe me down as she knew what my situation is.

"We have already lost your father .I can't tolerate any more lost." Her eyes were gloomy.

Its been like 2 years. My father used to work at the local grocery shop .He had a simple life .But one day he was arrested by the Invaders .I still remember the time ,when I was yelling and begging to our people to stop the Invaders ,but nobody took any step .Dad remained quite but I could see tears simmering in his eyes.

I tried to compose my self and gulped down the few sips of water .After the breakfast we went to the gathering hall .I saw my friend tessa ,who wanted her hand towards me ,I smiled and waved her back. After we took our seats ,the celebration started with an as usual boring speech of historical past and great upcoming future plus how can they forget about the deadliest Invaders.
So after one hour of that boring speech and oath session,we got the liberty to eat and enjoy!

The best and the only part of this celebration was free drinks and food.So every body just jumped over the tables to avail this limited offer.I grabbed a soft drink and sandwich and sat beside Tessa.

"See he is looking at us!"Tessa whispered in my ear.

"Who?I looked around .

"Dumb ,don't look ,he'll notice that we are talking about him."She pinched my hand.

"Errr.who?I can't see the person."I looked towards her with a frustrated glare.

"Look at your twelve o clock"This is the secret notion that we used to talk .

I looked and found a guy ,sipping on his drink and continuously looking over us.

I felt self conscious .Well don't be.

"I think he is coming towards us."Tessa squeezed my hand.

"Relax ,we don't even know him.And why you are getting excited?" I looked at her with worry.

"Excuse me?"Before Tessa could reply to me ,we were interrupted by the same stranger.
