Butterflies Die Too

Prologue: Mommy knew that they were coming she warned Daddy. Many days she wouldn't allow me too come out of my room and I knew never to make noise because try would take me and I knew where I would go. They took little girls one by one and never brought them back and they came without warning. My daddy knew they would come for me and he couldn't have that so he tried to find escape many days but every attempt was failed and no one could stop faith.

When I tuned 7 I heard a knock on the door and my heart stopped without even knowing who was out there. I got up and ran up the stairs as fast as I could and my daddy went to answer the door. I heard a subtle conversation at first but then the volume rose into yelling and I heard glass break and I jumped on my bed and began to open a window that daddy had made sure was easy to open at all times because he told me if anything were to happen to jump. I didn't understand what he wanted me to do after I jumped but with common sense I knew he wanted me to run....fast.

More glass shattered and I heard mommy scream and beg for them to leave my father but I heard a gunshot and a body fell to the floor and that was the first time I heard my father cry and it was loud and that was a sound I wished I never heard the last thing I heard was my dad scream " Max run!!!"and another gunshot and I knew my mommy and daddy were gone. I had no time for tears my small and fragile body fell through the window without even thinking and I fell to the roof of a lower house and quickly stood and began to run along the roofs of the different houses. I heard loud footsteps behind me and I heard shouts saying " Grab her!!!" It made me that much more fast.

I climbed down from a building and I found myself in the middle of the street and I saw children getting dragged out of their houses and I couldn't breathe. I felt a hard hand snatch my arm and I shrieked and began to bang at the hand hoping it wasn't them. But I felt a hand go over my mouth and I got pulled into a door and I landed on the lap of a male about 10 years old and his face was clean and he didnt look like he was from around here. I took deep breathes and he tried to calm me down and he said " Are you alright?" I looked at him and I said" They killed them.... They killed my mommy and my daddy... They killed them" he put my head on his shoulder and I went numb.

Chapter 1: Time

It has been 2 years and now I am 9 years old. I have became apart of the family of my enemies they act as though I was never their target. Then again they don't know. Kado just had his 12th birthday and I wish I could thank him as much as I want to he is not to pay for what his parents do. He saved my life and in return one day I will save his. As we sit around the table Kado looks at his mother and says " Mom me and Maxine want to go out today we will leave at dawn" his mom looks up from her cup of coffee and says " You say it as if you and Maxine run this house " Kado stands up and doesn't waste any time in putting his mom in her rightful place he says " I do run this house I am the man and you are the woman you have no power over what I do and Maxine is my property and I say that she can come with me!" His mom stands from her chair and slaps him across his face and he leaves to his room. Kado was a very demanding child what most people would call spoiled because he had reason to be his father was the boss of a major corporation and his mom was a stay at home mom and made sure he got everything he desired.

As she walked back to the table she looked at me and smiled and I smiled back and proceeded to eat. When I was finished I walked back to my room and as I passed Kado's room I noticed that I didn't hear anything I ran in his room and I saw him hard at work at building a long rope. He signaled for me to close the door and I walked over to him slowly and I said " Kado what in the world do you think your doing?"he looked over at me and said" Max I'm gonna find a way for us to go down into those woods over there I hear it's haunted and that most kids who go in never come out" his eyes look bright and excited. I walk over to his rope and I say " We can't go Kado or mom will be really upset "he looks at me and says "Max don't worry if anything happens just blame it on me." I smile and climb on to his bed and say " Kado, they don't know who I am do they?" He looks at me with eyes as sorrowful as a poor child on a winter night and says" Max I will make sure they never know I promise" the look in his eyes tells me that he is afraid of what might happen to me if I am found out but I beg if he looked in my eyes he would see that I already feel dead.
