And just like that, all the spiteful words came out of her mouth. She never wanted to hurt his feelings, but she intended to say it, all of it–the apparent paradox of not wanting to hurt someone but actually doing something that would hurt them. It was a sudden flash of emotions. And in a split second, it seemed like everything came to a halt; the surroundings turned mute and dark, and the people vanished into thin air. It seemed like for an instant, nothing existed—including herself.
