*a story inspired by pierce the veil's song : hold on till may. *

*She sits up high surrounded by the sun , one million branches and she loves everyone . Mom and dad did you search for me ? I've been up here so long I'm going crazy. *

High in the branches of a strong willow tree , sat a young female . She found this tree about a month ago . It was the perfect place to think , to hide and to escape from reality for awhile. The bright sun shined through thei

branches reflecting on the river that was below her . She felt safe in this tree , protected by the canopy of leaves above her head . She'd like to play a game with herself of how long she can stay up here , before her parents came looking for her . Her record 48 hours .

It's not like she expected them to notice her absence , she came from a family of five . She was the middle child nobody ever cared about her . Her parents were never the nicest . Her dad was a closet achocolic , and got abusive when he didn't get his fix . Her mom worked a lot , but everyone knew she was having an affair with her boss. Dad was pissed when he found out . He beat her as soon as she walked in the door , in front of his kids . She almost died but luckily I called the police .

Dad is in jail now , for attempt of murder charges . Mom is now dating her boss , who just recently moved in with us . I can't remember the last time I actually had quality time with my mother . Which is sad because I developed anxiety at the age of five . I now suffer from depression. I'm such a screw up .No wonder my mom wants nothing to do with me .

After a few months my depression started getting worse . Each day was a struggle . Some days were hard even to get out of bed . I did anyway because if I stayed at home my mother would nag me for something. She only bothered me when she wanted something .

I remembered a girl at school , who self harmed in order to cope with her life . I was curious ,so I brought a pocket knife with me to my tree one day . I took a steady breath to calm myself . I shivered . But it wasn't from the the wind which was howling through the trees . I rolled up the sleeve of my blue sweatshirt and placed the blade on my wrist . I put slight pressure on it as I drew a horizontal line in my skin . I held the knife in my right hand as I admired the cut . The colour was a bright crimson . I like the way it made me feel . As the blood poured out , of the cut so did all of my problems . I smirked . I put the blade back to my wrist and made three more lines . The sun was setting by now . It was getting late .

*And as the sun went down

we ended up on the ground

I heard the train shake the window you screamed over the sound

And as we own this night I put your body to the test with mine .

This love was out of control . 3-2-1 where did it go *

"Are you stuck?" I heard a deep voice below me. I looked down to the ground to see a boy with straight black hair and piercing blue eyes .

"No." I called down to him . I quickly yanked the blue fabric over my wrist. The blood was dry now. I then climbed down. I looked him over , then walked past him. Starting my short journey home . He followed . I let out a heavy irritated sigh . "What do you want ?" I ask .

He chuckled at the tone of my voice . His laugh reminded me of my brother who moved out along time ago.

" I'm Silas . " he smiled , holding out his hand for me to shake it . I was hesitant and just stared at it. He finally gave up realizing I didn't want to shake his hand. It fell to his sides . "And your ?"

" I'm late ." I said as I started walking away . Which was a lie because I didn't have a curfew . Mother didn't care where I was anyways . Relief washed over my body as I realized the young boy didn't follow .
