Do you believe in soul mates? Does anyone actually believe in the myth that colors exist?. I didn't believe it and trust me when I say it sounds ridiculous that just meeting a person can bring you color. Why should I believe that this would happen, I was twenty eight and my world was still gray. It is said that once you meet your soulmate color comes back to your life. I used to be a skeptic about all of this until flicks of colors came into my life when I saw him. He walked past me and for a moment I saw the beauty of color. It only lasted for a second. That was the first time my courage wavered, but my pride was a bit broken. I would never tell anyone. I would go about my normal life as if nothing ever happened ,hoping I would never see him again.

The second time I saw the colors was when I was at work. "Hello, my name is Jay. May I be of any assistance?" I said forcing a smile.

"Ah hello My name is Joan I do need some help actually." Joan said closing his eyes.

Maybe it was just me who saw the colors so I decided to stay quiet. If he came up to me I would tell him then, but if he didn't I would stay quiet.

"How may I help you?" I start with my normal routine trying to stay focused. The person in front of me had the brightest blue eyes or at least what I believed the color was.

"I need help finding a good outfit" Joan said rather sadly. I didn't question it and just

went about helping him. While I helped I started to notice more and more about Joan. He's just a bit shorter than me, slim build, short hair, blue eyes, brown hair. He was very attractive. I must have spaced out because I was snapped back into reality by a hand waving in my face.

"Jay, are you ok? I've been trying to get your attention for the past couple of minutes"

"Oh sorry. I was just thinking" I said with a bit of a laugh, my face going red from embarrassment.

The third time I saw color was out in public. I was just walking so that I could go get groceries. I made it all the way through the store with new random specks of reds and blues that has become a normalcy. I made it up to pay and guess who happened to be there? Joan. I don't understand why he appears everywhere but somehow he just does.

"Hey it is good to see you again Jay" Joan said smiling at me. At that moment all of the

colors came rushing back. I just smile a bit and say,

"Oh, hello Joan it is nice to see you again as well."

"So did you find everything you needed?" Joan said happily. He seemed to like being

around me. I hoped that this wouldn't be a normal occurrence. I wasn't ready for a soulmate but at the same time I wanted to be around Joan. I smile happily at Joan and nod. I payed and left.

"Goodbye"

"Goodbye Jay."
