She took a deep breathe, held it and allowed herself to start sinking. The water was cool, wrapping around her like a blanket. This was not salt water, as much as she loved the sea, she loved being in a river more. The sea never understands; it is always pushing you back up. The cool waters of the river continued to caress her cheeks as it continued to pull her into its murky bottoms. This was what she needed. She closed her eyes, willing the day away, trying to forget the words he had said to her. Allowing the water to squeeze the hurt out of her as the oxygen in her body kept getting less. She opened her eyes, feeling faint. She had worked so hard, come too far. Releasing air from her mouth, she watched the bubbles rise up, her mind clear. Even as her vision clouded, her feet kicked, pushing her up from the tantalizing hold of the bottoms. She shot up pass the bubbles of oxygen, breaking the surface of the water with a loud gasp. Sunshine hit her face as thoughts scattered across her mind, one standing out amongst all others - she still had a lot of fight left in her. And she finally allowed herself to breathe out.
