"This is your dad? Wow, Hi it's great to meet you. I'm Fiona Gallagher." Fiona takes her hand out, and my father gently holds it bringing it to his lips, leaving a soft kiss.
"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Emmanuel Rivera, I've heard a lot about you." He grins, and I roll my eyes.
"Why'd you bring him here?" I mouth to Ethan, and he shrugs in defense.
Ian stands up tall, and his body stiffens once he sees my dad. I'm guessing he is still upset about him holding a gun to his head to teach a lesson.
"Me?" Fiona asks surprised, and he nods while taking a look around.
"Parents aren't in the picture, so you took over, raising five kids by yourself. It's a lot for one person, heck I can barely raise 2." He jokes, and she laughs. He looks over to Lip and Ian and smiles. "Phillip, Ian, pleasure to see you two again." He says causing Fiona's eyebrows to raise.
"Wow, uhm, How about you two join us for dinner, there's plenty of food left, wouldn't want to waste any." Fiona offers.
My eyes widen, and I quietly pray for him to decline the offer. "I'd love to." He smiles and follows us toward the kitchen.
"What? No men?" I whisper to my dad, and he chuckles.
"I just came to see my kids, didn't think I needed them." Fiona serves him and Ethan a plate while they sit down.
Debbie and Carl stare at our father with no expression on their faces. Pa introduces himself to them and greets them which made them feel more comfortable around him. Pa stares at me intently and notices that I'm wearing Lip's shirt. I avoid eye contact and take a bite.
"So, Phillip, graduation is creeping up, will you be attending college?" He asks, and my heart sinks. I stop eating and look over at Lip.
"Wasn't my plan before but I'm considering it." He says, and Fiona's eyes go wide.
"Lip, that's amazing. When did you decide this?" Fiona cheers.
Lip looks over at me and smiles, "Ellie actually applied to some for me." He laughs.
"That sounds like my girl, so much passion for others." My dad says while taking a bite of his food. "Any colleges in mind?"
I knew what he was doing. Trying to get to know every little thing about his little girl's boyfriend. Ethan, on the other hand, is dazed out, I wondered what was on his mind.
"I'm just waiting to hear from some." He clears his throat; I sensed the irritability. "What brings you around?"
"A call from the high school. Got the news about both my kids getting into fights." He answers, and I drop my fork. Ethan's head shoots over to me, and he bites his lip. "What was that all about?" He asks us.
