Into Thin Air

Tori's POV: It was in the middle of the night and I was walking out of my room to go to the bathroom. Outside my room I see the hallway ,pitch black. As I stood in the hallway, I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Tori.." it whispered. I jumped back in surprise and my head slammed against the floor. I grunted in pain while rubbing my head. It says,"You owe me 20 bucks." My face formed into a scowl knowing who it was, but I tried to keep my composure. It was my 13 year old sister, Pearl. I got up from the floor and said to her" Pearl,you gave me a scare." Pearl giggles and gives me a hug. She says,"I'm sorry, Tori, I won't do it again." I could never stay mad at her. Pearl says,"Mom and Dad are calling us."I nodded, "Okay let's go." Using her tiny frail hands she took me downstairs to the kitchen. My mother was cooking dinner and smiled as we stepped into the kitchen. She said," Great you both are here. How about some legendary Davis family spaghetti? I chuckled and rolled my eyes. I told her,"Mom it's the same ingredients as a regular spaghetti." She laughs and responds in a serious tone,"You don't know that." I see my dad on the couch watching the latest news on the latest abduction going on in the neighborhood. Then he starts giving a rant about how we, girls, shouldn't be out late at night. My mom nods and says,"Howard, the kids got your message now sit at the table and eat dinner." After a nice meal with my family, I asked Pearl, "What do you want to do?". She points at all the wii games I had. I nod. We started playing the gamewith all the mii characters. It was hilarious because we made the characters look really dumb. We were having a happy time until... zap! The power went out in the house. I shuddered, as I heard screams in the darkness. I yelled," Is everyone okay?" No one responded. Then moments later the power went back on. I looked around frantically for my family, but they disappeared. It's like they vanished into thin air. I called out," Pearl? Mom and Dad?" ....no response..... Tears formed in my eyes, as I fell on my knees weeping . Just then, the house dimmed to the point the bright pink walls lost color. It started to get colder and colder. I was breathing on my hands while rubbing them together to keep myself warm. I was wondering why the house suddenly was freezing until I heard a woman laughing. It wasn't a pleasant laugh. It sounded very sinister, in fact not human. I could hear her getting closer. Pit! Pat! Pit! Pat! I quickly hid under a table. I could hear her singing a melody, as she walked into where I was before.  I could only see her feet. Her feet were pale and dry. Her toes were shaped like the talons of a bird. My body shivered, as I heard the melody,"Tori, Tori
Little girl Tori.
Come out here Tori.
I am hungry."

My body started shaking. I tried to find a way to escape. I slipped out of the table as she left the room. I was unaware of a wine bottle on tbe tableand knocked it over. Suddenly she appeared in front of me grinning. She bared her teeth and was ready to tear me apart. A gut told me to look away. "Any last words before I have my dinner?" she asks with a evil look. I looked around for a weapon. I saw a vase on the table. I responded, "Yeah.... actually." I reached for the vase slowly and smashed the vase on her head closing my eyes. She didn't even flinch.  But by her tone I could tell she was angry. "Oh I was going to save you for last out of your whole family. But now I'm going to have fun keeping you with me and killing you slowly. " she yelled. I turned around ready to run for my life. As I turned to run , she swiped her finger.  I flew across the living room. and hit my head against the wall. Everything turned black.
