Eyes of Fear

Cold -empty eyes, they stare right back, wary

Untold stories they try to bury

Moments of clarity, yet so blurry

They hold on to darkness, not so dearly

They've lost inspiration for yet they search,

They look on the outside, for a temple or church

The eyes of fear hold truth that they deny

They're scared to look on the inside, they cry

But tears so tasteless, they feel like a lie

They've captured the darkness, spectacularly

Yet they're trapped in, rather tragically

Uncertainty has basked them

All day they just complain

They're falling deeper into oblivion,

they reach out but hold back

The light seems to fade in the black of the eye

But they look on for something, eyes of fear refuse to die..
