Dear World,

I tried.

She was here for a little over a week when her dad came by with police to pick her up.

He stood behind the cop, cast on his leg.

I told the police what he'd done to her but he said that he couldn't do anything because there were no witnesses.

I cried as they dragged her away, her eyes begged me to save her.

I tried.

I pulled her away from the cop and pushed him, grabbing her arm and running.

We ran until neither of us could breathe.

I didn't know where we were but I heard sirens so I pulled her further.

I took her to one of the most populated places I could think of. I took her to the mall.

We walked into Hollister and sat down to breathe.

We got kicked out after an hour.

Her phone rang and she shattered it.

My phone rang and I threw it into the fountain and made a wish.

I wish she'll be safe

We stayed away from everything. I kept her away from everything.

It's my fault.

It's all my fault.

Maybe it isn't all my fault.

But then again, maybe it is.

Maybe.
