Chapter 12

(EVIE'S UNCONSCIOUS STATE)
Pitch black.
That's all I see.

Unconscious.
Even while in this state, I could dream. Some were nightmares but many were good. They were all about him. About Penny.

I wonder what my life could've been without him. Boring. Dull. It would just be "normal".

The idea of life without him fell on me suddenly. I couldn't fathom a world without him in it. I needed him. I needed him to hold me close on those long nights. I needed him to make me feel safe. I needed him to kiss me when I was afraid. He was my oxygen, he was my life. He was something I couldn't simply live without....

(PRESENT)
....I slowly began to open my eyes. I started to make out the familiar surroundings around me. I was under the neibolt house, Penny's lair.

"My love, you're awake!" Penny shouted eagerly.

"Forgive Penny! He meant no harm to you. He was simply angry." Penny kneeled down, shouted forgiveness.

He was asking forgiveness. From a human.

My eyes widen at his shocking behavior. I sit up and face him. Penny instantly pounces on me and hugs me tight. Tight to where I struggle to breathe.
I instinctively hug back. My face against his silky suit, the all to familiar smell of the circus lingered on it.

"Penny won't hurt his human ever again. Penny promises." He purrs, while caressing my hair.

He finally lets go and I look down at my wound. To my surprise, it was no longer there. As if it never happened.

"Penny what happened?" I looked at him in complete shock.

"I told you, you have a piece of me in you. You can not perish, time will not affect you as long as I'm alive. My gift to you, my love." Penny said with eagerness.

My eyes widen and my mouth opens slightly. I could not believe his words.

"So I'm im-immortal?" I asked.

"Yes." Penny replied with happiness in his voice while clapping his hands.

"You'll be Penny's forever. And you'll be by my side forever." He said.

With this new information I stood up. A feeling of power filled me. I felt alive for once. It brought me happiness that I could be with Penny forever. Til the end of time.
All this thinking lead  to another thought.
Emma.

"Penny. Where's Emma? I said with a shaky voice. I was afraid of his answer.

"I killed her. I was so angry by what happened to you. She needed to die." He said with a blank look on his face.

Upon hearing those words, I fell to the ground.  Sobbing.

"PENNY HOW COULD YOU?!" I shouted while sobbing on the ground.
"TAKE ME HOME!" I demanded.

Penny's blue eyes became red. I could tell he was angry at the way I was acting.

"I SAID TAKE ME HOME,PENNYWISE!!" I shouted again.

This time Penny stood me up and pulled me forcefully towards  him. He pulled me in for what seemed like a hug but he burrowed my head in his chest. I suddenly felt a fast gush of air surround us. He pushes me away from him roughly and I noticed we were no longer in his lair. We were in my apartment.

"Penny did we just.." I said before he cut me off.

"Yes." He replied angrily.

He had just teleported us home.

We were standing in the living room and I was facing him. I see that Penny points towards the door and I turn around.
The door was wide open. There she was. Emma. Laying there in a puddle of blood with her head missing from her body.
I gasp and tumble back. I quickly run into Penny's arms. I was afraid.

"That's what you wanted. You wanted to come home" Penny growled.

In the distance I could hear the elevator ding and footsteps coming our way. I start to panic and Penny instantly goes into his attack mode. I hear the familiar voice of James calling my name down the hall.
I begin to cry as Penny walks towards the door, meeting James face to face. I'm standing behind Penny and notice James face of pure terror as he sees Emma's decapitated body and seeing a 6'4 clown hovering over him. We make eye contact for a split second before he runs off screaming bloody murder.

Penny slams the door forcefully and picks me up.
"We must leave." He says softly while cleaning my tears from my face.

I could hear police sirens in the distance. I knew they were coming this way.

Penny was right, we needed to leave. I felt horrible for letting down my friends but I was loyal to Penny. No matter what happened.
