The Jeep went along the passage of road that led to the Elementary school, unlike most districts in the are the Elementary and Middle/ High Schools were actually quite a ways apart. As the paved roads drifted in and out of being gravel roads, Patricia handled the wheel of the car with a steady grip, her face was in a constant state of a genuine smile as the car moved steadily.
The boy next to her, had his hands securely latched to his seat belt in a tenacious grip as he kept a straight face of courage, his eyes only moved from the road when he was talking to the girl next to or behind him, which was quite often. He's beam of confidence was unfaltering even though the topic of discussion did made his face burn red, his main focus was his choice of words as he was desperately attempting to make a good impression on the people before him.
In the back seat of the car, a little girl by the name of Lillith was rocking her head from shoulder to shoulder as she pestered the boy in small yet playful jabs at his interests. Every few minutes she'd say a word that would make her turn and face the boy next to her, a sprite of serious would overcome her when she did this but it would fade away with ease when she would turn back. Her shoddy clothing make scratching noises as she shifted the way she sat on the car's seat. Lillith held a face that was a little too happy in some moments but, it just had to be assumed that when she'd rub the metal on her necklace and smile through the tears budding on her eyes that she was just struggling to grasp the happiness and this was how she coped.
Next to her, was a boy that couldn't cope. He was Harrison Ambers, and his little sister, Mara Ambers, was missing. Being a high schooler who had already been struggling to graduate with a 'C' average, he just couldn't do anything to help himself or anyone around him at this time. The reason this group was together was to find Mara Ambers, they were all connected to her in a way and they all wanted her back, whether it be for family, heroism, or wanting a friend or crush to return neither of them could imagine living in a world without her.
The Jeep hit the gravel road of the school and the people inside shook their head up and down with the movements of the car as they pulled in beside the two story brick school, Mara had classes on the top floor and Lillith knew where they were. Patricia had keys to get them inside of the building and the two boys were drowning in their determination to find and protect this girl that they had both come to appreciate so much.
"Okay guys, how's our came plan looking?" Patricia said as she yanked her keys out of the ignition and leaned over the arm of her chair to peer into the back seat of her car at the two people behind her, by doing this she accidentally excluded Edgar from the conversation she was starting, the boy moved his body so that he was facing inward nonetheless in a slight attempt to become relevant.
"What do you mean?" Harrison said, speaking for the first time since he left his home, Edgar moved a little in his seat from the force in the teenagers voice,
"Gameplan." Patricia repeated as she pushed her eyebrows together, "We can't just enter the school and go searching all willy nilly." She said, her sentence had small millisecond stops where she had to keep her language kid friendly,
"We could start on the second floor." Lillith said butting in with a twinge of excitement to her voice, "That's where she was last seen right, we could look around for clues.." Her voice dragged when no one joined in with a few words of praise for her ideas, "You feel me?" She added quickly to cover her few seconds of fault as Lillith made a few hand gestures with her phrase,
"Yeah Lillith, that sounds like a fantastic idea..." Edgar said quickly afterwards to save the awkward silence, Lillith smiled and sunk her head into her shoulders with the compliment, "It's betty than aimless walking that's for sure!" Edgar then added with a smile and nod to his head, seeing Lillith happy and Patricia nodding as she looked over to Harrison made him feel quite peachy.
