We'll Fly

As if I didn't see it coming;
You left this world so nimble.
I'm not sure if I'll have a chance of loving;
If only my thoughts of you were that simple.

I just wish I could see you again;
Hear your voice once more.
We had something more special than that of mere men,
But now you look down at me as your wings soar.

But even though it seems a sad departure,
One of tears and more,
I know I will see you again.
My dearest I adore.

Although you have faced this most tragic of fates,
I envy your happiness in the sky.
But when I watch Saint Peter open those gates,
I'll see you again; together we'll fly.
