"I had another premonition earlier." Vincent said flashing his hollywood smile.
Whendi was changing into her night gown and walked into the bathroom. Standing next to Vincent to hear his random stories of their possible future, she was still mesmerized by his tall, muscular figure even after nearly six years. He had the look of a Hollywood star as she would tell him often. She loved how his brown hair was so thick and how it seemed to have a natural taper fade haircut. His brown eyes would sparkle every time he smiled. It was the way he always made her knees weak any time he would gawk at her.
Putting her arms around his waist to hug him from behind she kissed his back and said, "You've been getting more and more of these premonitions lately. It must be fate then, huh?"
"Well I think when a woman saves a man, it has to be fate. How many men can say that thier woman saved their life?" He turned around and leaned on the bathroom counter pulling her closer to him. "I dreamt about a child. A little girl. She was beautiful."
"Really? So we are seeing kids now. You know that the kid may have to wait at a few more years, right?" She squeezed his hands and took a deep breath, "Baby, kids sounds so amazing, but you know that waiting till I'm done with school is important for me."
"Yes, I know. And I want it to happen for you first. With me able to work at your fathers business and finally without any of those terrible headaches getting in the way, I say that everything is starting to look our way," with a kiss he pulled her in closer to hug her.
After brushing their teeth and talking about their wedding Vincent and Whendi fell asleep. Whendi was soundlessly sleeping but Vincent started to rustle around. It was little jerks at first and then it calmed. He was dreaming. And this time the woman and the child appeared at the same time. The little girl was no older than five years old. In this dream everything seemed so clear. He was at the lake on a picnic with a woman and child that appeared to be a little girl. The smells of the trees, the water, and the delicious sweet smell of freshly baked cookies. Vincent was up playing with the little girl. First running around pretending to chase her then swinging her around in circles. One hand holding her ankle and the other around her wrist as if she was flying. Lying on a large blanket was the woman who looked to be seven or eight months pregnant. She looked to be smiling and laughing, taking pictures of Vincent and the little girl. As he focused more on the woman he noticed that it was a familiar face, but it was not Whendi. He knew then what he was dreaming was not a premonition. It was a memory.
"Again daddy! Airplane! Airplane!" Begged the little girl. "One more time, please!"
With a tug at the heart he couldn't say no. He looked at her and played a role of a plane captain, "Breaker 0-7, breaker 0-7 we are ready for take off. I repeat we are ready for take off. Are you ready, Jayme?" With an excited squeal she jumped up and down getting in a position of a runner on the track. Together they counted down from five. "And take off!"
Jayme then ran as fast as her little legs could go, and within just a few feet from where they started off he gently grasped her arm and then her leg and swung her around in circles. It was no doubt that Vincent had never been so happy. He felt the warmth and love. It was all peace that he could feel. Slowly placing her down on the blanket with the beautiful pregnant woman, Vincent reached inside the basket of food and pulled out two cookies and handed one to Jayme. "I love you, daddy!"
"And I love you, Princess," taking a bite of the warm soft cookie he looked at the woman and reached to rub her belly saying, "And I love you, son. And I love you." Crawling towards the woman he gave her a kiss.
