"Yeri-ya! Mother said to clean your room!" Yeri's sister shouted downstairs.

"Why? Who's coming?" Yeri asked.

"Our aunt!"

"Who?"

"Our AUNT!" Her sister emphasized.

"Why? It's not that dirty anyway... and she won't even come up here" I replied.

"Just do what mother says!" Her sister shrieked.

"It's not like-"

"DO IT!" her sister interrupted, screeching downstairs.

Yeri rolled her eyes, getting out of bed. She started to pick up her clothes off her desk, then organized her thousands of pencils. She sighed while thinking about her aunt, or her many aunts. Was it the aunt that nagged her all the time? Or was it the aunt that gave her money? She hoped it was the latter. But suddenly, she remembered her mother's friend, the aunt who had a son, her first crush. Even though he tugged her hair and coloured her skin with permanent markers, she was hexed by that boy's spell. They haven't seen each other in years since her aunt left their neighbourhood.

When she thought about that boy, her heart ached and she felt tingly everywhere. She felt guilty, irritated, confused, but ecstatic. She shrugged it off a moment later and continued cleaning.

Finishing her work an hour later, she opened the door, then took a glance of her room, sparkling and gleaming. She smirked, proud of her effort. She approached the stairs, descending down to grab something to eat. She opens the fridge and suddenly, a whiff of fish made her stomach growl. As she closes the fridge and takes a bite of the leftover sashimi, she hears the front door open. Startled, she bolts towards the stairs while screaming and goes up, her legs missing every single step.

"Yeri-ya, don't be shy. It's just me". Her sister laughed.

"Joy-unnie, don't scare me like that. I'll slit your throat if I want to!" Yeri returned.

"Be nice. We have guests. Want to slit their throats too?" Joy mumbled.

As Yeri's head pops out of the edge of the wall to glance at the front door, the gleaming sun outside reveals a silhouette of a young man holding two suitcases, grinning at her. Her cheeks flushed and turned into a rosy pink hue after realizing, Joy, her mother and her aunt were there too, but she could only see the man her heart ached for.

"These kids I tell you. All they do is fight each other. Right Yeri-ya?" Her mother pointed at her face, but Yeri was still fixated at the man.

"Right Yeri-ya?"

"Yeri-ya!" Her mother repeated.

"Yes, mother?" Yeri stuttered, her gaze broken.

"Jungkook, you can put your things upstairs". Joy mumbled, readjusting her hairclip.

"Ah, thank you, Joy noona". He took both his suitcases and hovered them over the floor then carried them to the second floor. Yeri looked back at Joy, her face still blushing. Joy raised both of her eyebrows, and went outside.

After her mother invited the neighbours to a tea party in their kitchen, Yeri slowly went up the stairs and took a peek inside her room, where she found Jungkook wandering around, studying every little detail. She wanted to talk to him, but she couldn't make herself. She trembled at the thought, and tip-toed towards her mother's bedroom, locking the door.

"You know what? I am going to talk to him. We are best friends, after all, I hope so". Yeri quickly unlocked the door and rushed toward her bedroom. Jungkook was still there, blowing the dust away from a photograph. Yeri sighed, and knocked on the door. Jungkook turned around flawlessly, not managing to fall.

"Uh, hi". Yeri started, immediately regretting her decision.

"Hi". Jungkook's voice sounded like it belonged to an angel. Yeri couldn't believe it was the same person that she was once friends with, she wouldn't dare to ask a person like him to be friends.

Yeri sat on her bed, Jungkook doing the same a moment later. She remained silent, trying to think of an interesting subject, but his presence was too strong, it made her vision blurry and butterflies in her stomach go wild.

Silence filled the air a minute later. Terrible, awkward silence. They could even hear their neighbours downstairs talking about growing corn.

"So... A lot has changed, huh?" Jungkook started, his voice shaking.

"Umm... yeah". Yeri hoped he couldn't see her heart pounding like crazy.

"So... uh... you like dolls?" Yeri blurted, pointing at her bed which was filled with dolls in all shapes and sizes.

A slight smile grew on Jungkook's face, his cheeks growing a slight pink shade.

"Uh... Yeah". Jungkook mumbled.

"I'm sorry. I know you never liked dolls since you were six. It's just really awkward seeing you now. I mean... you have changed a lot!" Yeri blurted out, her cheeks flushed and hands covering her face.

"Yeri-ya, you don't need to try. I'm the same person who tugged your hair during kindergarten!" Yeri reminisced about that moment, smiling faintly.

"Besides, you have changed a lot too. It's really awkward seeing you now. I also can't believe you are the Yeri I know all those years ago". Jungkook smiled, sliding towards Yeri, caressing her hand.

Yeri's mouth opened wide at the second their hands touched. Yeri glanced at Jungkook's face, his cheeks blushing, and his charming smile. Jungkook combed her hair with his hands, smiling faintly at her. Then, as their glances met, Jungkook leans in for a kiss. The kiss was simple, but Yeri couldn't control her heart from beating too fast. After all these years, their lips connected. His soft lips onto hers. When the kiss was broken, they both blushed, and turned away from each other.

"YERI-YA!" Joy called out.

Yeri could not speak a single word. Her mind was filled with thoughts of confusion, and she felt a feeling so indescribable.

"Yeri-ya! Come here right now!"

"Ok! I'm coming!" Yeri answered.

She walked out of her room quickly, exhaling every step she took. Jungkook looks at her walk outside in awe, not believing they kissed. He pressed his hand against his forehead.

"Did that just happen?" Thought Jungkook.

"It must have been a dream".
