CHAPTER THREE
Written and edited :by @celiene_e (Celine Eban)
BROKENIt was already 2 weeks after the burial, how time flies.... you would think the hurt and pain would just vanish, but for me it seemed to increase with every passing day....we had visitors like never before, some would stay a day or two to help out while some came every day to check up on us....
Dad had taken time off from work and other social activities to heal and process his new life, thank God I was still on break as school wasn't resuming for another month....
Life without mum became tough, dad started loosing it, drinking smoking, and turning the house upside down became his everyday activity.... he had lost so much weight within a short period of time that one would think he had a chronic disease....
I was broken but had to grow up.... I had responsibilities, I became the father and mother.... cooking, attending to all chores, cleaning up dad and Michael was also part of my duties, I also had to attend to some of dads business calls when ever he was out of shape......
I laid on my bed staring up into the ceiling as I reminisced on the past..... the last summer we had was fun and eventful, mum had told us all about the cancer and the stage it was and how hard she was fighting.... even though she was really sick she never allowed it get in her way of spending time with her family.... last summer she had told dad she wanted to renew their wedding vows, I guess she knew she wouldn't be here for long...... I wanted to break down but I couldn't, I hated her for leaving me, for leaving us, she promised and she failed...
