IT HAD BEEN A YEAR since I left Avonlea to live in London with my parents. It was crazy to think it was only a year ago when I left the people I loved most in the world. But now, everything has changed. The most important thing in my life right now was maintaining my classes, hanging out with the orphan boys, and practicing how to be a lady, which was what my mother said would be "useful in the future". I hadn't heard from Gilbert since I mailed him that letter, to which he responded to. He had told me he was leaving Avonlea for awhile. He never told me where he was going, no matter how many times I had asked out of worry. As time passed, we stopped writing to each other. It hurt badly, but I knew that if I truly loved him, I would have to let him go. The boys helped me through the tough times, and they soon became my best friends. Life was simple, as it should be. I could feel myself change into a completely different person than I was before, and even though I hadn't noticed, I was slowly losing myself.

authors note: so, as you all know, season two of anne with an e is not out yet, so i decided to take the story on from here. from here on out the story will be samatha's perspective on how she is living, along with many surprises and unexpected events. gilbert blythe is still going to be a main part to the story and his love for samantha will be recognized. i am very excited for part two of this book and i hope you are as well! thank you guys so much!
