Hanir and two guards drag me out of the test room. I can see the outlines of my father and Borri shrink in the distance. I thrash against Hanir, kicking my legs every which way in a pathetic attempt to break free. Sand which clung to my body falls from me in little tuffs of clouds as I move.

It takes everything in me to not break as I watch my father's arms slack to his side from his blood being drained. The pit in my stomach only grows knowing my father will feel the hunger I do. I fear the unknown reaction he will have to it. I was able to deal with being turned into a vampire-leech by relying on surviving. The world Arren gave me wasn't a choice.

My father chose this life because I didn't have a choice. That will weigh with me forever until I too finally die from the sun's rays. I fear that the sun couldnt shine fast enough.. Being dragged from the throne room, I strain to look at the second door adjacent to the throne, the second door opens. This time it is Arren who steps from the other side.

He has his hands hidden behind his back as he approaches me. My arms still held by the guards. Hanir occupies the space in front of me, standing between Arren and I. Hanir only had one hand on my stomach. His face is flecked with dried black blood and palm is crusted with sand.

"Delcia, calm down." Arren speaks and as he does, I have a sense of serenity. Its hard to submit to the calm that over takes what I was feeling. Though, still knowing what I know; I want to be angry, I want to break the throne into tiny bits.

Arren's gaze settling on me though I still haven't forgave him for the life bestowed onto me I took heart in trying to pace my breaths. That then was enough for me to notice my heart racing. I felt very woozy from the momentum my heart took in my chest cavity.

"Delcia, come feed. We will talk." He offers his hand to me. He knows I will take it and follow him. It must be the bond he and I share. "Hanir, come too. You are still hungry."

I rest my fingers ontop of Arrens open palm allowing him the room to grasp my hand how he chooses. I place my other hand ontop of Hanir's shoulders giving him an encouraging squeeze to follow us. I never wish to witness his savage behavour all for a red liquid filling every human in this world.Arren leads us to the Dinning hall. It is a spacious hall that has rows of lengthy tables, all of which has equally as long benches for those partaking in meals.

He brings us to the center table. My hand falls from his. I take a seat across from him and further examined the room. The Dining hall wasn't like any other room I had come to see. The floors are stained red, if the stone floors are naturally made from clay or if its simply stone stained red by blood is a different story. The walls were have wood pressed against them however there were small holes in the sides of the walls with a column of light flowing from it.

I stay silent, for awhile. Hanir is the one who speaks in the mean time. "Arren, what will happen to the rest of the humans. They were silent as we passed them.' His finger's lightly drum against the table, the pads of his finger's tapping lightly against the table's surface.

Arren places the sides of his hands against the table. ''They will be killed and harvested for their blood. You and Delcia will be brought to a second trial soon enough. Hanir, you will be tested instead of Delcia this time. They will make you use your smarts, intelligence, rather than your strength.'' Arren continued to drawl on. A sense of newly found emotion must've awoken in him for such a caring response to come from him.

Hanir audibly gulped. His face drops as he focus' on the table. As we sat, Arren was the first to be served. A woman already carrying stains on various places of her flesh, offers herself to Arren. He brings his arms around her. He does this with much more care than he had when it had been me.. I feel a sting in my chest from his affectionate posture towards the human.
