Chapter 1: Ben

Ben' PoV

Hi! I'm Benjamin Thomas Barnes, and I've been in the spotlight for as long as I can remember. I act, I sing, I dance and people love me for that but I feel empty inside. It's like something's missing but I don't know what.

There's this girl is love, Ciara, she's the girl next door type. She's lovely. I love her so much. She's the most important girl in my life next to my mum.

"Ben? Sweetie? Wake up! You have guestings today, aren't you not?" That's my mum waking me up. She's sweet isn't she?

"I'm already up mum!" I answered back, so she won't be banging my door cause I know my dad's still asleep. Well, it's still 5 in morning and dad's go to work at 8 am. He owns the company.

"OK, breakfast is ready so hurry up and come down." My mum, before she went downstairs. We have maids but my mum wants to take care of the food me and my dad eats. She's a nutrition frick if I must say. That's how much she loves us. And yup! I wanna marry a woman just like her.😊

After changing, I went downstairs to eat.

"Mum? What do you say if I ask Ciara to marry me?" I ask while eating.

"She's beautiful and kind. But are you sure sweetie you're ready for that? You're still young you know. Don't rush things when it comes to marriage ok? But mum and dad will always listen. Besides are you willing to give up your carrier and settle down? You don't want your future kids to be drag by your popularity right?" She told me.

"Well? I'm sure I can handle that. Besides I really love her." I answered. Looking so confident. Looking so sure that Ciara is the one for me.

"Well? If that's what you say then we will support you all the way. So hurry up and finish eating and go and while you're at work I'll help you think of a proposal to surprise Ciara. You know, you can always count on mum." My mum, then she give me a wink.

"Thanks mum! You're the best mum ever! I have to go. See you later mum!" I said then hug her and kissed her on her chicks. Aren't I the lucky one?

At my age, 25, I can say I'm so blessed to have a perfect family, a perfect girlfriend and career.

I hurried to the studio where I'll be guesting a morning talk show for interview.

The day I never dreamed of happening happened.

A devastating news comes to me at the end of the day. Brought to me by my best friend James and my girlfriend Ciara.

I reached home with a smile only to be swept away when I saw my mum crying.

"Mum, I'm home. What happened?" I asked her and kissed her on her forehead. The same goes with my dad. He's hugging my crying mother.

And on top of it, I'm confused why is my best here and why are they holding hands and Ciara looks like she's about to cry?

"Alright folks, what's happening here?" I asked them seriously. My chest's banging like crazy. I'm so anxious and nervous at the same time.

"Ben, I'm sorry. I...I... I really am sorry." James started with a stammering voice.

"What are you even saying? Look people I'm tired and I don't have time for guessing games. So will somebody tell me what's going on?" I can't control myself anymore and I raised my voice. They're keeping in the dark and my head's about to burst from thinking.

"Ciara babe, what's going on?" I turned to my girlfriend.

"B-b-babe, I I I didn't mean to B-b-but..." She's freaking out and she's crying and my best friend's hugging her so tight. So I grabbed James away from Ciara.

"What the hell James! Who do you think you're hugging?" I asked angrily and I'm about to hit him in the face when Ciara stopped me and stood there between us.

"B-ben, I love him, and I'm pregnant... I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for deceiving you...please forgive me." Finally she blurted out what's really going on.

I was so shocked I couldn't even utter a single word. Tears begun to fall and my heart felt like it was smashed into pieces. Shattered. Just when I'm planning to propose to her... my body moved unknowingly and hit James on his face. He fell down and Ciara hurried to his aide. Is that it? Five years for relationship with her all goes down for nothing? Life long of friendship with James ended with betrayal?

"Get lost!!! I don't wanna see your faces ever again!!!" I shouted to both of them. I was betrayed by my the guy I've known as my best friend by the guy I've treated like a brother! And by the girl I've cherished so much! How could they!!!

"Sweetie..." My mum hugged me lost in words. Crying. Maybe she pitted me. And I know she's hurting as well. She treated Ciara as her own daughter. She dreamed of having a daughter.

"Son, I know it's hard for you. You can always cry on mum and dads shoulder. You still have us. We love you even more than them. Your fans as well. Be strong son, for us and for all the people who loves you." My dad's comforting word.

That night I've cried and cried till no more tears.

I got drunk almost everyday. I still go to work, tapings and guestings but I was like an empty shell... just the shell no soul no life.

My manager told me to have a short break until I can pull myself back together again. They all understand what's happening. Our tapings was cancelled so I could have a break. So I can think. And I've decided to go to a country side. Away from the spotlight, away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi. Cause my break up caused an uproar on media and paparazzi's everywhere hunting me down asking for answers asking what happened.

"I'm tired. I've never felt so tired in my life... let me rest for a while, and when I come back, I will come back slamming the big screen again." That's all I could ever come up with to answer those paparazzi and my fans whose been actively asking on social media. I didn't give them the details of my break up that's my personal life and I don't want to expose to the world that the Ben Barnes the loved so much was dumped by the girl she loves so much to another guy, much more his best friend.
