Chapter 2: The first encounter.

We entered through the gigantic door of my mansion. The place was into silver and gold theme. Furnitures that look equally pricey was nestled level over the black carpet on the silver floor. From huge vases, expensive paintings and carve statues, make the whole place look like a museum.

Black drapes, and golden chandilier made the place more eleagant and catchy. I had these belongings after my grandfather passed. Having these possesions and able to support my needs doesn't mean I'd live with solace and joy.

Actually, it was the opposite of that. Or worst.

I've always thought of living freely, with no worries, death threats or distress after me. Because that's how a billionaire like me supposedly live his life. But with my current situation, it all became dream.

Once in awhile, I glance over Jill who doesn't bother to talk ever since we drove here, like a machine who doesn't need to run her program without operating her.

We ascend upstairs. As we reach the second floor, a long hallway imbeding with red carpet await us. On the wall, Images of my family clan affixed. From my ancestors, forefathers, and grandparents with approximately three meters distance apart each frame.

I tried to steal another glimpse of her without being too obvious. I caught her looking on each frame as we went passed, I can see the amusement on her glistening eyes. I halted, then turned to face her. "The chaos should have settled down enough by now."

She spared a glance, didn't say anything.

I continue, swirled around without biting a word. Stopping at the front of white threshold, I drawn out a silver key, entered through the hole of the knob and twisted it open. The door creaked as the darkness encompassed us. I flicked the lights on.

As soon as the light dominates the entire room, a bunch of bookcases lined in a horizontal row, and woodened chairs aligned with tables greeted us. The room took up much spaces for computers, huge enough to occupy this entire place.

"Come on." I said, and she followed me. A steel desk situated at the corner and a bookcase filled with books, magazines and academic books covered much of one wall in the room. I had an extensive library of manuals covering the spectrums from survival to first aid. There was an entire section of different books.

"It's better to be prepared." I pulled out a lever and twisted on something. A loud clicked sounded, and I pulled the entire bookcase out. Behind it was an even smaller room, line with metal cabinets and racks of least a dozen gun, swords and other deadly weapons.

"Grandpa had this room put in way back during a war. He'd always reminded me to be prepared for the worst. And I guess he'd never wrong." I informed.

"..."

"Let's get you some gear." I motioned her to come closer.

"Have you ever fired a gun?" she asked. I cocked my eyes on her, only to find her staring at those weapons with enthusiasm.

Come to think of it, I had a chamber of weapons lurks within a library room. But I can't recall a single instance of using them, even once. Didn't even swipe in my head that this could be handy. The last time I've set my feet here was the time grandpa introduced me in this room, which was now belonged to me.

"Yes-- No. I mean, I never tried to used them. I never had time to."

"Poor kid. That explains why you need someone who will bust their asses for you." She held out the Riffle on the rack.  "This works for me."
