The last bell of the day ring and I got up from study hall, swinging my bag onto my shoulder and walking out of the library. I walked to my car and saw Kat riding her bike out of the school. I figured she wanted to be alone since she had to get ready for the sleepover so I decided I would just text her later. I got into my car and drove home.

I walked into my room, putting my bags down and falling onto my bed so I was laying on my back. I got a text message and looked at my phone to see an unknown number.
From: Unknown
Hey Calum do you want us to come pick you up or are you driving yourself? This is Ashton btw
I changed his name so I knew it was him next time.
From: Me
If you don't mind you could pick me up. What time?
From: Ash 🤣
Probably 5:00 and we'll head straight for Kat's house. Here I'll add you to the group chat of the guys and I and also the group with Kat in it too.

I put my phone down and went downstairs to check if my mum was home. I lightly knocked on her bedroom door and heard a faint 'come in'. I cracked the door open and walked in, seeing her sitting in her bed, back up against the headboard as she read a book.
"Hey honey, how was your day?" She asked, not looking up from her book.
"Pretty average, nothing special. How was yours?" I replied, beating around the bush slightly since I didn't know how she would react to me having friends.
"Pretty good actually. I got to come home early since the office closed down earlier when the computers shut down. Just been relaxing a little bit, I don't get to do it very often these days" she replies, glancing up at me and smiling warmly, causing me to smile back.
"Welllll... I was wondering if... Icouldgotoafriendshouseforasleepovertonight?" I said quickly, mumbling slightly.
"Uhm.. what?" She said, directing her attention to me and giving me a weird look. I sighed and started over, not making eye contact.
"I was wondering if I could go to a friend's house for a sleepover tonight..?" She smiled, her eyes lighting up slightly.
"And what's this friend's name?" She asked, clearly curious to know about my social life.
"Ashton, Luke, Michael... and Kat" I mumbled the last name, somehow she missed it though I guess because she was too excited about me actually being social for once in my life.
"OF COURSE!!! WHY WOULD I EVER SAY NO TO THAT!!! AWW MY BABY BOY IS MAKING FRIENDSSS-" I cut her off, placing a light hand over her mouth.
"Muummmmmm stoopppppppp" I whined and she chuckled lightly.
"What time are you leaving?" She asked, moving my hand off of her mouth.
"Ash is coming to pick me up around 5" I replied and she smiled.
"Well, say bye to me now so I don't hold you up from your new friends" she says and I smile, hugging her.
"Love you" I mumble, holding her securely in my arms.
