After a long ass day at school, I finally arrive home, and throw my back pack down on the floor with the note from Joji in my hand. I just sit on the side of my bed and stare at his number, memorizing every curve and edge on the folded paper. Finally exhaling sharply I decide to text him.

hey it's y/n , that girl you passed the note to in biology.

Almost immediately after I turn off my phone, it beeps reveling a text from Joji.

hey it's Joji , that guy who passed the note to you in biology

I chuckled to myself, feeling his sarcasm charm radiating through the screen.

so why did you give me your number?

because I thought it would be nice to reconnect with an old friend

I wanted to believe him, but I knew him better than that. I had to find out more.

you sure about that, Miller?

i'm pretty sure about that, y/l/n

A small smile formed on my face, was I really falling farther for this guy? Before I could ignore him and go downstairs my phone beeps again, making me ache to see what he texted me.

we should hang out today, my place?

sure, pick me up?

of course

And just like that, I was magically friends with Joji Miller again. Somehow I felt like this wasn't going to end well, but to hell do I care anymore?

I patiently wait for Joji outside my house, feeling all my nerves tingle as I thought about him more and more. Finally after about 10 minutes of waiting I see Joji's car. I run over and jump inside.

He looks over at me and smiles, "Hey." I look at him and smile in return. "Hi, so where are we goin'?" I was scared to ask but it all seemed like we picked up right we're we left off 5 years ago.

"I was thinking we would go to the Park?" He kept looking at me, like it was the first time he saw me ever.
"Sounds good to me." I put my seat belt on and look out the window.
As we start to drive, he finally says something to break the ice.

"You look really pretty today, Y/N" he glanced at me then back at the road. I keep looking out the window because I couldn't bare him to see me blush.
"Thanks, you too." I say a little too quickly, but it's okay. Today I didn't look too bad, so I'd agree with him: I had on a black sweater, ripped jeans, and my favorite pair of burgundy high tops. Honestly he wasn't looking too bad either: white shirt, black joggers, and those damn checkered vans. It was a very basic outfit, but it looked good.

Maybe this could be good for me? Actually getting out and talking to a boy again. After me and Joji went our own ways, I became a wallflower and he became popular, I never did much of anything.

Hopefully this will change everything.
