Tonight I will write a story
The name of the story
(The Fisherman's Net)Once a fisherman decided to make a new net which he would use to feed himself and his family. At first he did not know what type of net would be best. He asked many of the other fishermen what type of net should he make what type was best. All of the other fishermen told him the same thing. They told him his net must be made well so it would last many years because a net takes a long time to make so it must be made well because he cannot make a new net each season there is no time to make net after net year after year. The other fishermen told him his net would keep his family fed and keep the family from starvation. Then one fishermen had told him something different and he said yes it is true a good net will take a long time to make and yes a well made net will keep his family fed but there is one other thing about the use of the net he would have to discover himself. The fisherman told him only he could discover how and why he would use his net. He said to the fisherman, man don't play hide and seek with your words just tell me of what you speak. The fisherman said no you will learn and I cannot tell you because you must use the net to learn this one final most important understanding which will tell you about it, he said no no no I cannot tell you then he left.
After months of carefully making the net staying up late at night and sometimes waking early to work on the net, finally he had completed his net. He thought to himself it has been many months I have worked upon this net and his pride grew because he saw how well made it was because of the time which he took to make it. He decided that such a great effort would surely be all that he would need to keep his family fed and just as surely they would never have to worry about starvation. To be sure his net would be all he hope for he visited this priest and asked for the net to be blessed. The priest agreed to bless the new net after all the priest was accustomed to blessing all of the nets which the fishermen in the village had made, it was something which had been done for years to ensure a good catch. The priest looked over the net before blessing it. The priest commented that the net had been made very well indeed and that such a well made net would surely be able to catch many many fish over the years. You have spent you time well and with that the priest with a few simple words had blessed the net.
Like all fishermen that night he set out to try his net. The fishermen fished at night because that is when they would catch the most fish because at night the fish could not see the net. Not long after placing the net in the ocean it was time to bring in his net. He struggled to bring in the net because it was full of fish🐟. He was quite pleased with his catch he then sorted out the fish which were too small and returned them to the ocean. When he reached home his family awaited and they ate well. This nightly fishing then throwing the smallest ones back to the ocean went on and this catches were plentiful. Then one night while throwing back the smaller fish he recognized one of the fish and commented I think I have caught you before and I have thrown you back. From that time on it seemed that the same fish 🐠 was growing bigger and had been caught up in his net again and again. Then he began to think is this what the last fisherman meant when he had said that he alone would come to know his nets purpose only after having learned through using the net. When returning home with that nights catch he thought about what the last fisherman had said and the fact that this one fish would be caught within his net and how many times he had released that same fish back into the ocean. He decided that he would release that fish no matter how many times he had caught it. Years went by the net indeed had been made well and for years he released the same fish as it grew. How and why it had happened this way he did not know but he realized he grew to love that fish and how important the fish had become to him. He never told any of the other fishermen not even his family. He knew this was what the last fisherman could not tell him, what he had to discover for himself and he was pleased.
Over the next years he caught less and less fish each night but he always returned the one fish he loved and had captured for so many years. Secretly he began to realize the fish he loved so had not been caught at all by the net. In fact he knew now that the fish he charrished had fallen in love with him also. As time past and he caught less and less fish he became worried if there would be enough fish caught to keep his family fed. Sadly his nightly fishing catch continued to just keep getting smaller and smaller. Still the fisherman refused to keep the special fish whom he had fallen in love with. Every night he and his beloved fish could see how small the nights catch was in the net to bring home to his family, yet he kept returning his beloveded fish to the sea. The fisherman began to see in eyes of his beloved fish concern as to whether he would continue to return it to the ocean or take it home to his family because each night there was only a few fish to be had. He loved the fish and started to reasure his treasure by saying please, do not worry I love you, I promise I will return you to the sea each night. I have returned so many times because, I love you and I know you love me so I will never stop loving you and I will always release you. Then one night he pulled in the net there was only one fish in his net, the One fish he loved. Both man and fish had tears thinking about all their past, all the memories together both felt their insecurities in that moment. The man took the fish from the net a started to put the fish in his boat saying that he would do what he had to do, hopefully he thought the fish would understand him. He said I love you and I always will but I have a duty. He explained to his beloveded fish that his family might suffer starvation if he did not bring the fish home to put on the table. I will risk all for you my love and with that he released the fish into the ocean once again. As he turned his boat to shore he heard the sound of splashing and the surface of the water became rough. Startled by the sound and the change in the ocean he look back out upon the ocean, amazed he saw his beautiful fish leading a school of fish to his boat. The fisherman hurriedly got his net and threw it into the water catching as many fish as his net would hold. The fishermans beloved fish then jumped out of the water in to his arms. Then as strange as it seems as he held the fish in his arms, the fish spoke to him. The fish began telling the fisherman that long ago they had each done whatever was necessary to capture each other and that they had both become lovers. The fish explained that fate which is neither good or bad brought them together causing them to become completely irresistible to each other.
Though they lived apart one on land the other in the ocean their love was inseparable. The fisherman never again went without bringing home a night catch to his family and the fish raised a school of fish who would never have to worry about being returned to the ocean if ever caught in the fisherman's net.
The fisherman now understood completely what his net was to be used for and why a truly well made net was so important.
I love you
