A/N this is my first fan fic so comments are welcomed :)

John POV

I looked at the envelope. This would change what would happen in my life, getting away from home and going to a top Prep school or be stuck at home with only dreams. My hands shook as I tore the envelope open and started to read it.

Dear Mr. John H. Watson

We are pleased to inform you that you have passed the entrance exam to Sooman and have also received a full football scholarship. Please contact the school for more information.

Sincerely,

Professor James

I looked at the note over and over. I was in. I would start school this fall, one week away and i would be away from home. No past following me just me at school. I had the urge to squeal like a school girl at the news but knew that it might wake someone up. I placed the note in the draw of my night stand, rolled over and tried to sleep.

The next morning I left a note saying that I was out and went to a coffee cafe with free WiFi to see what I needed for the school. After I found the needed information I took the list and went home to pack.

The week passed in a blur as I waited until the perfect moment to tell my parents I had gotten into Sooman. I had already told my sister Harry and she was somewhat happy for me.

The day that I  was leaving home I pulled my jumper over a bruise that had begun to form on my arm and grabbed my suit case with my things. I walked down to the kitchen where my mom was slouched over the stove cooking while my father read the paper with a beer. " 'ou ready for 'chool to start Johnny Boy?" my father asked in his drunken state. "W-what?" I stuttered as I positioned my self close to the door. " For Tukon High School, Idiot " he said gruffly as he motioned for my mom to bring him breakfast. "O, um I had something to tell you about that actually." I said in a small voice as I watched my mom serve my father bacon and eggs. Suddenly my father grabbed my moms wrist and shook it. "What it this slut, burnt, burnt eggs, are you trying to kill me!" he shouted in anger as he grabbed the hot skillet out of my moms hand " I- I'm sorry.  I-I'll just re-remake them." my mom whimpered as she tried to get the hot skillet from my father to remake to food. "NO" he yelled at her and started to come towards her with the hot skillet. "NO" I yelled as I jumped in front in front of my mother. "It was just some burnt eggs, you'll live." I said standing taller trying to look brave. "HOW DARE YOU TALK BACK TO ME!" he yelled as he grabbed my by my neck and pulled me into the horrors of his bed room.

When he threw out of his room I already knew different spots that would have bad bruises. When I walked into the kitchen my mom was at the table looking at the slightly burnt eggs. " If only I haven't burnt the eggs" she whispered over and over. I bent over and kissed her on the cheek, " I got accepted to Sooman, I'm leaving now" I whispered in her ear. She looked at my, her eyes happy, jealous, sad, broken. "I love you" she called as I grabbed my suit case and headed for the door. " Stay safe" I called and left

Sherlock POV

When I finally got out of the car I looked at the school with people scurrying around, boring people I might add. Everyone here was the same, rich , boring , and predictable . I looked at a man who was holding countless books (8). He was tall, had thick glasses, completely flattened brown hair and was wearing a sweater vest.

Here for the math programs because of the advanced math text books

Parents rich but hover

Never had a girlfriend but willing to do a lot to get one

Plays online gaming

Also a computer nerd

BORING

I sighed, this would be a long year with all the same people around. I walked over to the check in building to get my papers for the school.

A/N I like this so far. I know this is short but PLEASE give feed back :)
