Clenching my hand around the strap of my rucksack I stare up at the unfamiliar entrance to a new beginning, pushing my palm against the thick glassed doors they open gently, wandering in I glance around the different environment to which I was adjusted to.

Walking through the hundreds if not thousands of pupils I brush off the fact a few smash into my chest, looking down at the sheet of paper given to me by the principal I arrive at my locker, punching in the code it unlocks instantly, fitting my bag in the compact area I slam the locker door shut.

Looking around the classroom I spot a seat in the far corner next to a window, wandering over I can feel eyes on me which makes my palms sweat uneasily. Sitting down I look up at the teacher who's writing stuff on the board, looking outside I furrow my brows.

Oh I should've probably introduced myself, I'm Ethan Ernst. You can't tell anyone, but something is unusual about me. I'm not from earth. I had been sent it when I was younger and last I remembered my planet had been destroyed by another. A number of us had been sent here to keep our existence up and running.

Cracking my knuckles I hear the bell ring, standing I go to walk out until my gaze is captured by a black haired female, staring at her I'm snapped out my thoughts by another voice, turning I look at a chubby lad "no chance. The names Tris, yours?" Tilting my head 'he seems nice, why not' holding my hand out he looks at it and shakes it hesitantly "Ethan Ernst" I say my voice bold and low, he cocks an eyebrow "right... where you come from?"He asks, looking around I swallow a lump in my throat "Orlando" I say, scratching the back of my head he nods "Orlando to New York, really?" He laughs, laughing nervously I walk beside him out of the classroom towards the cafeteria.

"So, why do I have no chance?" I ask, sitting beside him I sip some of the water, looking at him when he laughs "that's Alisa Colnel, she's like the schools diamond." He says using hand gestures to exaggerate "so?" I mumble, turning when an unfamiliar voice mumbles "So, she's with the hottest guy in this school." Looking at a girl with long black messily curly hair and glasses "Who are you?" I ask, tris looking at me with a raised eyebrow "I'm Kristen" she says, placing her book on the table "why are you sitting with us?" Tris asks, Hearing her laugh I cock an eyebrow "I don't have friends?" She mumbles going back to reading her book, moving over in front of her I lean forward "what do you mean by the hottest guy in this school?" I ask, her eyes darting up she gestures towards a blonde guy with blue eyes "why are they always blonde.." I murmur quietly, turning back to her "that's Mark Rones, football captain and biggest jock in this academy." She says, looking up I furrow my brows.

Sitting in the pitch room whilst a movie plays I look down at my buzzing phone 'Harrison' ignoring it I end the call, returning my attention back to the movie I jump when I feel a tap at my shoulder "Who's Harrison?" Looking at the girl from earlier I furrow my brows "my guardian." I mumble, Hearing her snort I feel a burning sensation in my chest, that runs down through my veins, looking at my arms at the glowing red lines I pull my jacket on quickly, zipping it up I stand, grabbing my bag I look at the teacher who's sleeping and then to Kristen who's looking at me strangely, moving towards the door as stealthy as possible I slip past it quietly.

Leaning against the wall in a dark closet I stare the scarlet veins pulsing on my forearm, feeling my phone buzz again I slide it out of my pocket and place it against my ear firmly "Ethan?" Hearing Harrison's voice I close my eyes tightly "Harrison, my veins are scarlet! They feel like their burning" I say quietly my voice smothered with pain and frustration "I'm coming to get you." He says ending the call straight away.

Dropping my head I growl into my bicep, the door swinging open I look up in horror, relief washing over me when I see Harrison stood with a concerned look "so you haven't panicked completely yet, good. Come on" he mumbles grabbing my wrist I stand, snarling at the pain coursing throughout me I follow him out of the school.
Leaning against his truck he hands me a bright red stone "What's this?" I ask, my voice coated with the pain shooting through me "push it into your chest." He says, staring at him I look at the stone pressing it to my chest it fazes into my skin "What the..." I whisper the pain completely vanishing, I look at my veins which are returning to their original colour "they conceal your form, protecting your true nature." He says showing me a box full of the red stones.

Returning home I sit outside, my head rested against the houses wall "what happened to you?" Snapping my head to the female "I... had to go somewhere" I mumble, her eyebrow raising "and my names Lucy." She says sarcastically, rolling my eyes I stand being pushed right back down "Don't play stupid, I saw those flashy red lines tracing your veins." She says poking my forearm harshly "I don't know what your talking about." I murmur, pushing her hand away from me "don't bullshit me new kid." She mumbles, furrowing my brows I see Harrison walking down the street, grabbing her wrist I pull her round the corner "What are you-" she begins, hushing her I peer round the corner at Harrison entering the house, shaking my hands I feel the burning sensation appear and In an instant my fists are on fire "what the..." She breaths, cocking an eyebrow "I'm not from this planet, I'm from Frane. We got sent here by our people before our planet had been demolished. Our people come in thousands of different elements " I explain, looking around frantically hearing Harrison's voice he walks round the corner and stares at us both "Ethan, fancy introducing me?"He says, walking towards us both with his hands clasped together "uh... this is Elizabeth fort. She goes to my school" I say, lying about her name which she instantly picks up on, holding out her hand for him he shakes it "I'm Harrison, Ethan's father" he smiles slightly, glaring at him I smile to Kristen "I'll see you at school tomorrow" I say softly, In which she smiles and walks off.

Laying in my bed I close my eyes and feel the power surging through my body, steam emerging from my form it fills my room and rocks me into a peaceful sleep.
