I could see that I could no way escape from that blood dripping creature anymore as its hand was 'round my neck already.
"Oh holy almighty! Let it at least be not painful", I prayed to lord.
Suddenly I could see that, that creature was not scowling anymore. That crooked scowl turned into a grin. The blood from its fang fell on my shoulder. It smelt heavily of raspberry, Shit!! That was Raspberry sauce! Yuck!! I did not know whether to be disgusted or to be pleased from my elusiveness.

"Who are you?", I asked
The person - whoever removed his black hood. I could not believe my own eyes.

"Fangg?", I stammered with my words

It was Fang, my another cousin from States. I could recognize him from his blue eyes. Even when my parents were alive, we had never been that close. We've hardly met once or twice. It was like, I could not relate him to this weird-where-ever-I-was place.

Then one elderly man, who must have been in his late 30s and George burst in, shouting

"Happy Birthday Alvin! ", I could not believe my ears. Even I had forgotten my birthday, Never mind! I am known to have very good memory.
I stood there wondering if I was dreaming. No I wasnt. It was too much reality.

"Suprised? Scared? Puzzled? ", George asked grinning.

"Yes", That was all I managed to say. It was too much of suprise-shock for me manage. I could not act normally. My sweat glands had over-done their job. I was literally drenched in sweat.

"Okay relax Al! We will celebrate your birthday first, Then We will explain everything to you. Let us start with formal introductions", Fang said

He continued pointing George, "This is your supposed-to-be-dead friend Georgina Begglefoot"

Then he pointed that elderly man, "This is your uncle, my father, your father's brother, 'Oliver Christopher' ", he said.

I did not recognize Uncle Ol earlier, I had seen him only once or twice. He a
nd my father had some conflict when they were young. Uncle Ol parted him to leave to Texas. They rarely visited us.

Then Uncle Ol opened a big box, there was one beautiful cake in it.
"Cut the cake my boy, You are turning seventeen this year. Live long and happy forever" said he.

I was puzzled. But I was happy. I have never celebrated a birthday or never has someone wished me on my birthday after my parents' death. I stood there dumbstruck. All I could manage to say in that heights of ecstacy was

"Thank you", I muttered in coy

Then George Handed a box then, It was a golden ribbon wrapped box, exactly the same like the one which was wrapped around the piece of note
I tried opening it. It was dubious. George was trying very hard to control her laughter. I looked at her helplessly.

"So you were the one who wrote that letter too, right? But how did you manage to reach up so high?" , I asked

"You will know the answers Al, Be patient." , She said. She helped me with the intricately tied ribbon knot. I
Opened the box. It was a brand new Iphone.

"Wow! I never ever have dreamed of this. Thank you guys so much. I can never thank you enough! Thanks George" I said

"Cut the sentiment boy", she had said.
Fang gifted me a pendant. That had a symbol of a deity, I suppose. I could not recognize it. But I sure must have seen it somewhere. It was platinum pendant inscribed in some unknown language.

"Now thank you so much everyone! Now tell me whatever is going on. Why did you leave the note there? Why did you bring me here ? Why did u 'kidnap' me to this place? Where are we? How did my parents die? How is George alive? Just tell me how, where and why. I am perplexed." I told them

They looked at each other. Uncle Ol started "Listen Al! Before you know what is happening, You must know what has happened all along. You are not a ordinary person as you may seem Al. Neither we all are. Billion year ago, It was an era of the almighy.
The world was ruled by the Mayan gods as you know. Mayan gods were the personification of the nature. Each Mayan God represented an element in nature. The Mayan gods were always too much of themselves. They never actually bothered about the people. Itzamna was the Creator or the supreme God and there were
almost about 250 other Gods. Due to a curse, the eight major Gods had to be reincarnated as humans. And had to live a human being for years. Year after year they married and gave birth to humans. Thus the traits and powers of the Gods passed on, generation after generation. Those eight gods were Itzamna , the god of night and day; Chac, the god of rain; Ah Mun, the god of Agriculture; Ah Puch, the god of underworld, Ek Chuah, the god of travellers; ; Ix Chel, the moon goddess; kukulkan, the serpent god of resurrection and reincarnation; Yum Kaax, the god of hunt and animals. But the Mayan gods were not so get-along-easily. It was personal vengeance, then it turned out that some of the gods turned real rivals. It was a bad show. The Gods got reborn as them, in the succeeding generation, though the intensity of their reincarnation reduces, still it is know that, The generation of the Mayan God still lives." , He said pausing to take a breath.
I have already got goosebumps, But I did not know why. I could not relate anything. As if one of the descendents of Gods. Hahaha! Oops I laughed too loud.
Uncle Ol stared at me, then he continued. "We were few of the descendents of the Gods".
Done, back to dumbfounded-I-am expression. That guy must be kidding.
He proceeded " Your father  was the personification of the traveller god, Ek Chuah. Like an hybrid flower, he had hybrid qualities too. Your father had possessed a special ability of crop growth, similar to that of Ah Mun. Your Mother was the reincarnation of the jaguar goddess Ix-Chel, I am the reincarnation of the serpent God, Kukulkan. But Even now My Goldly powers haven't sprung into action.  Fang is the reincarnation of Chaac, the rain God."
I interrupted, "But if the powers transferred down the ancestors, it should be of the same powers nah?"
Uncle Ol said, " you are right, It is known that Gods, have decided the fate of the forthcoming generations. The Gods have chosen their reincarnations. You can never be clear of them. George is the reincarnation of the God Yum-Kaax, the God of vegetation and animals, She has the ability to turn into any animals, she desired. "
That must have been the reason she did not die that day when the bridge accident occured, I thought.
"Then what am I?" I asked.
They were all silent for a moment. Then Fang spoke "The second reincarnation of the creator himself, the reincarnation of Itzamna, the creator of fate"
"No! Not possible!" I exclaimed," I am just a useless teen. What is so special about me?"
"We must figure that part out!" , Uncle Ol said.
"But the thing is, We all must protect you, because if the evil kills Itzamna, Chaos will fill the world. The world will be surrounded by gruesome evil" he said.
"Evil? Who are those people?" I asked.
"The reincarnation of death god Ah Puch, destined to kill the reincarnation of the creator Itzamna and those who protect them."
"So how did my parents die?"
"Ah Puch" All said in chorus but in grave-low tone.
"Who is he?" I asking clenching my fist.
"It is not 'he' it is 'they'. There are many living reincarnation of Ah Puch, they do not reveal their face, they are known to hide their identity." George said
"But if they had wanted to kill me, It could have killed me any time. Right?"
I asked her.
"The reincarnation of Itzamna, do not manifest their traits, until their seventeenth birthday, but they show hints, like we all found it out when you were two. When you accidentally, fiddled with the house, and brought the whole house tumbling down" Fang replied.
"Really? " I thought.
"So My parents, Mr Begglefoot they all died protecting me?", I asked
They nodded solemnly. Shit A tear escaped by eye. I get all sentimental some time.
"But why?" I asked in anger
"Because you are important, You are the remorse and remedy for the Gods' curse. If you destroy the evil, the Gods would again take form. You are their only solution" Uncle Ol told me.
"What should we do now?", I asked.
"We must teach you to utilise your powers, we must gather similar reincarnation of others, team them up with us. I learnt my powers, when uncle Ol rescued me, when I fell down the bridge" , George said.
"Everything is okay! But leave me alone for while" I told them
"Okay done, think , take you time!"
Said Uncle Ol while leaving.
"That is an amulet of Itzamna, passed down the generations. Figure it out. Only a true reincarnation of Itzamna, can bring out its powers" said Fang, pointing to the pendant which he gifted.
George sat on my bed. "Do need any songs in the phone. I have pretty good ones in my phone", she asked
"That would be a great help." ,I told.
She leant forward and kissed me on my forehead.
"You are out there against fate my boy"
