chapter twenty four

Annie's POV
This morning I was greeted to Hayley jumping on my bed. "Happy Birthday Banannie!" Hayley shouted.

I smiled and sat up. "Thank you Haybug." I said getting up. "Hayden said he's taking you out for breakfast." Hayley said walking out of my bedroom.

I get up and out of bed and get fresh for the day. I walk downstairs to see everyone awake and busy. My mom Tisha in the kitchen, Hunter and Caleb playing video games, Dylan and Mr.Jimmy probably taking about work and Hayden tickling Hayley.

"Hey! The birthday girls here!" Dylan shouted. Everyone gave me birthday hugs. "And now I'm going to take you out for breakfast." Hayden said grabbing my hand and pulling me out the door.

I smile as we got in his car. We arrive at IHOP and I squeal. "My favorite pancake house!" I smile.

Hayden giggles and opens the car door for me. "Thank you kind sir." I smile. We both walk in and get our table. "Annie," Hayden said with a sad tone in his voice.

"I know it's your birthday, but I have work in the afternoon and-" I placed my hand over his. "It's fine Hayden." I smiled.

"But, Lauren and Kenzie said that they were going to take you shopping." He said trying to lighten the mood. I nodded. When the waiter came he took our orders.

-time skip to after breakfast-

We drove to outside of the mall. "I'm so sorry Annie." Hayden frowned. I gave him a small peck on the lips. "It's fine, I promise." I said with a small grin.

He nodded. Kenzie and Lauren were here so I got out of the car and they both greeted me with hugs. "Annie! Happy birthday!" Lauren and Kenzie said. "Thanks guys." I replied.

We walked inside the mall and they pulled me into a dress shop. "Um, what are we doing at a dress shop?" I asked confused. "To get you a dress! Duh." Kenzie said looking through the racks.

"Uhh I don't need a dress." I said standing awkwardly. "Yes you do because we're taking you out tonight!" Lauren smiled, handing me a dress.

"Try it on!" Kenzie said pushing me into a dressing room. I tried it on and showed them. They didn't like it. I tried on the next and the next until I found the one.

It was black and white dress, a little above the knee with straps. Lauren squealed while Kenzie admired the dress.

Lauren insisted buying the dress, and which she did. We headed over to the food court and ordered food. "So, you and Hayden." Lauren said wiggling her brows. I almost chocked on my drink.

I looked over at Kenzie. "Don't worry, I'm dating Johnny now." She said recurring me. I took a deep breath. "Good." I simply replied.

Hayden's POV
I felt bad that I had to lie to Annie again for her party. It'll be worth it later. Johnny and I had to get everything ready for the party.

"Do you think she'll like it?" I asked Johnny, leaning back on the wall. "Bro, she'll love it." He said. Caleb walked in through the ballroom doors.

"Hey Caleb!" I smiled. "Hey guys. Um who are you?" He asked looking at Johnny. "Oh, im Johnny. Hayden's friend." The shook hands. "Hayden, can I talk to you real quick?" Caleb asked. I nodded and we walked to a hallway.

"What's up?" I asked. "So, you dating my sister comes with some rules." He said sternly. Oh god. "First of all, when you two are in a room together, always have the door open. Second, no having sex. Third, break her heart I'll break your face." Caleb said.

I swallowed hard and nodded. "Y-yes. Of c-course." I said. He nodded and patted my back which made me flinch. We walked out of the ballroom hallway and back to the main room. Caleb left and Johnny was staring at me weirdly.

"You good bro?" Johnny asked eyeing me. "Caleb is really protecting over Annie." I said staring at the floor. "Well, I'm protective over Lauren. It's a older brothers job dude." Johnny said.
