The night had gone at an agonizingly slow rate. Fergal was on the hot seat and was being bombarded with question after question from Pam.  His emotions were getting the best of him as Pam continued to guess what was wrong with him. He didn't sleep a wink since Pam got his attention early that morning and now he had to drive to the next city. Fergal looked down at his phone and opened the app Maps out while they were at a stoplight.

"Would you like me to guide you?" Fergal flinched at her voice. For once in his life he didn't want to talk to her, didn't want to listen to her voice, he truly didn't even want her in the car.

"What the hell? Are you alright Fergal?" Pam's voice was laced with concern as Fergal pulled into a gas station.

"Yeah... I'm just... tired." Pam rubbed his shoulder as he turned the car off. He placed his forehead against the front of the steering wheel and closed his eyes. Pam continued to rub his shoulder as she studied him closely. He had become a ghostly white with pools of sweat spotting his shirt. Pam had never seen him like this before, to be honest, she hadn't seen anyone like this. He was fighting some internal battle that Pam desperately wanted to help him with.

"You know eventually you won't be able to run from this and will have to tell me." She was responded with a slight chuckle.

"You just continue to poke and prod don't you?" Pam giggled in response.

"Fergal, I know something's bothering you... we all do." Fergal looked towards her.

"All?" Pam nodded.

"Drew, Chad, Allen, Merc, Joe.... me." Fergal's head dropped once she mentioned herself. The last thing he wanted to do was make people worry... but her? Maybe he should say something to her... maybe she could help.

"No! Are you stupid!? She'll think you're a monster! Continue to distance yourself."

"How? She's the closest person to me besides the boys... and... she wouldn't hurt me. She would take me for all my flaws... she'd still love me."

"Fergal! You better not be falling for this woman! Remember what happened to me!? Remember what happened?! You threw me out like yesterday's garbage!"

"Lauren I didn't throw you out! I said I was sorry! I didn't mean to! God get out of my head!" Pam's eyes went wide as Fergal gasped in shock. He just yelled that out loud didn't he? He slowly turned his head to see Pam looking apologetically at him.

"I'm gonna go use the girls room, but when I get back you are definitely going to vent." Fergal watched her walk towards the entrance of the Pilot as his mind continued to play with him.

"She's gonna hurt you... but then again you deserve it." Fergal gritted his teeth.

"Get out of my head and stay out!"

"You can't get rid of me Fergal... come on it's been years Fergie."

"Don't call me that."

"Oh? We aren't into pet names anymore?"

"Not from you... haven't you hurt me enough anyways. Why don't you just leave me the hell alone?"

"Because you've taken something away from me that I'll never get back."

"Whi-" Pam had been back faster than expected as she startled him by opening the passenger door.
