I get up off of the porch swing and enter Josh's, well our house, to check on the crying bundle of joy.
"Hi sleepyhead, how was your nap? You hungry my little man?" He cried in response.
Putting him on my chest, we walked to the kitchen to heat up a bottle. Josh was out feeding so it was just me and baby Caleb hanging out.
",I just can't believe you're already five months Caleb. We have to finish packing so we can leave when daddy comes back."
I fed Caleb and then took him into the bedroom so I could finish packing. We were going to California for a family get together, Josh's family too, everyone and I mean everyone, will be at my mom and dad's house to see baby Caleb.
  "Paris!"
  "In the bedroom babe."
Josh walks in sweaty and heads straight for the crib.
   "Hey my little man."
"Take a shower before you touch my baby."
"Yes mama, I like when you're bossy."
He smacked my ass and then rushed to the bathroom to avoid my attack. I rolled my eyes and continued packing.
"It's gonna be so nice to see everyone, it's been so long."
I was dying to see Lilly, Emily, and Alisha the most. I haven't explained much to Emily and Alisha, so I'm nervous about what they're going to say.
The shower wasn't long, because Josh was back in the room faster than I could blink.
"Now you have my permission to smother him."
He smiled at me and then reached into the crib to pick up a very happy Caleb.
"5 months. This was one hell of a journey." He stated.
I shook my head and continued packing our bags.
When I was done, Josh handed Caleb over to me and then took the bags to the car.
"Sam!" I called, but got no response.
I walked to the back door and slid it open to try again, by the third time I saw her golden brown hair running towards the door.
"Sorry, sorry... the squirrel was taunting me."
"Uh, um. Okay? Anyways we're about to leave so go jump in the van."
She walks past me as I close and lock the door. Before I leave the house, I check to see if I have everything I need for Caleb and myself, make sure all the windows and doors are closed and locked, and then place a protective spell onto the house, I definitely don't need another house burning to the ground.
    "Everything is good."
I tell Josh before I put Caleb into his car seat and strap him up.
   "Okay guys let's go."
The plane ride was not as bad as I thought it would be. Caleb had slept through most of it.
   "Oh my baby!"
My mom came over to me and took Caleb out of my arms.
"Wow mom I missed you too."
My dad steps out of the driver seat and comes to give me a hug.
    "Hi daddy."
    "How's my Gumdrop doing?"
    "I'm doing great actually."
"Let's get this show on the road people, we have guest coming." Mom stated.
My dad had rented a van that could fit up to 8 people, so Sam got all the way in the back, while my mom put Caleb into the second row next to her. I went to the other side of Caleb, which left Josh in the front seat with my dad. The drive to the house was the same as always, nothing had changed since the last time that I've been here. It seemed like so long ago that I was out here relaxing, not having a care in the world what would happen, and now here I am with a son and a wonderful boyfriend. When we pulled up to the house I grabbed Caleb's car seat and opened the door. There were blue balloons tied to the mailbox and a big shiny blue congrats sign taped above the door.
   "Mom decorated didn't she dad."
He shook his head to confirm my fears and I laughed. Karin Johnson sure does know how to go all out, especially when it comes to her family. My 16th birthday was just supposed to be a couple of friends in the backyard for a small pool party, Karin decides to invite more people, aka my family, and turn the small pool party into a whole barbecue extravaganza. Long story short my friends were not invited to hang at my house ever again.
Stepping into the house, was like going to a whole new country. Everything was blue with baby decorations placed all over, the table that was set up in the living room was set with a blue tablecloth, and on top were blue party hats, cups, plates, napkins, utensils, and blue sparkly confetti. This was just the living room, I could only imagine how the backyard looked. I placed the car seat down onto the floor and took out Caleb.
    "Hey Caleb, come to Grandpa."
I hand Caleb over to my dad and go to take the bags into my room. I flop down onto the bed as Josh makes his way into the room.
"I'm so exhausted, I just want to hibernate."
"Well Winnie the Pooh, unfortunately you can't."
I grab the pillow off of the bed and throw it at him, but his reflexes catch the pillow before it makes contact with his head.
"Jokes on you, I like Winnie the Pooh."
Before he could reply with another smart comment a head peeked through the door.
   "Lilly Pad!"
I jumped up from the bed and ran to engulf her into a hug. Tears started to stream down my face as I felt her warmth and took in her familiar flower scent.
"I missed you so much, you have no idea how hard being away from your best friend is."
"Lilly, it's okay. I'm here, I'm alive. Can't get rid of me that easily."
I know that's what the whole problem was, it wasn't that we haven't seen each other in forever it's the fact that 5 months ago could've been the last time that she saw me, got to talk to me about her boy problems, or actually held me in her arms.
A knock on the door came and with it was the face of Jake.
    " I can't believe it, you're here too?"
I went to him and he pulled me in for a well needed hug. Josh cleared his throat and I rolled my eyes.
"Lilly dragged me along, said 'you need to get out of the house some more', so here I am."
"So does this mean that you've decided to move from New York?"
She nods her head and I jump from excitement.
   "We're gonna be neighbors."
I pulled her in for another hug, I know I'm a tad bit over emotional, so I'm just going to blame it on pregnancy hormones.
About twenty minutes later everyone showed up and were ushered to the backyard for the festivities, while my baby Caleb, was being passed around and loved, not that I minded. Alisha and Emily were sitting at the bar with Lilly, so I made my way over.
"You've been holding out." Emily said.
"So have you." I said while pointing to her little baby bump.
She smiled up at me as her hands went to rub her stomach.
"Oh, don't worry. Lilly will plan the baby shower and you all will be god parents, so no big deal."
"Pregnancy is a huge deal." I stated.
"Um so is being a witch." Alisha added.
"Well, guess I better tell the story huh?"
I took a deep breath and began. I told them everything from the beginning to the end, making sure I didn't leave out anything.
     "Wow." Alisha said.
"You could've told us this a long time ago Paris." Emily said sounding a little frustrated.
     "I know I should've, and I'm sorry."
"We'll always have your back, and from now on we have to tell each other everything no secrets."
"No secrets." Alisha, Lilly, and I said in unison.
I hugged them all and shed a tear or two or three, but who's counting. My mom called me up onto the patio to make a speech. I grabbed Caleb, who was ready for a nap, and Josh came up to stand by me.
"This whole journey has been hell, I lost my Nana, the most vibrant person I've ever met. Even though it's still tough I have people to help me through it. You guys are my family and stuck by me when there was nothing but death near me, you guys helped keep Caleb safe and I'm so grateful. I couldn't have asked for a better blended family. I love you all."
"We love you too!" Lilly yelled.
Who would have known that little Paris Johnson would be a witch, and have a whole big family to love her. I feel Josh tap my shoulder and I looked back to see him on one knee holding up a ring.
"I know it's usually marriage and then babies, but if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change anything. Paris Marie Johnson, will you do me honor of becoming Mrs. Paris Marie Hudson?"
Tears instantly fell out of my eyes.
"I'll let the fact that you said my government names twice slide. Yes Josh. I would love to marry you."
He slid the ring onto my finger and kissed me as the family erupted into cheers and claps. This is what was worth fighting for. I looked down at a sleeping Caleb and smiled.
