[Prince Vyner Youngblood]

Charles tried kicking me but as the portal had this strong force that gratefully kept us apart, he was basically kicking air. I'm grateful because I'm not looking forward to being kicked in the face by him. "You little brat! Once we get to the other side of this damn portal, you're going to get it from me."

I make a few legs swim to make sure I was far enough from him. I mimicked his expression, "It's best to take your regular chill pill, mom. You must have forgotten to take it."

I would add in that his expression when I pushed him into the portal was priceless but I wouldn't get too cocky just yet because his martial arts skills really did hurt. It's best if I don't tease him too much or else I might get it.

I grinned anyway, "Is that a proper way to address the Crown Prince of Patriarch, dearest Sir Charles Amrich?"

Charles rolled his eyes and huffed, obviously he was annoyed by me. I'm still surprised how he managed with me because I'm a person that can really have the biggest effort to put up with. He folded his arms and placed it on his chest, his attempts to possibly kick me in the gut subsided. He knew it was useless at this point.

I hope when we reach the other side, he forgets that it is useful to kick me.

His navy blue eyes suddenly dilated slightly when he saw something behind me, he points to it. "Hey, Vyner, what's that?"

I cocked my head swiftly behind to see what he meant. It was bright enough to blind me as I shielded my eyes from it. I peeked through the slits in my fingers. I can see some swirls in the mysterious light. As I'm getting closer to it, I see something. It could be the next realm that Wilhelm was talking about. It looked...

He forcefully kicked his legs to try and reach me. His right hand wanted to reach me. He screamed, "Vyner!"

Before I could register what was happening, I'm sucked faster than the usual pace. My expression instantly turned surprised to the sudden new change in speed. I tried reaching out for Charles but the force seems as if it had a mind of its own, driving us away. I mustered more energy this time, fighting against the force that was sucking me in greedily. As I thought I'm about to reach for Charles that was mere inches away, it sucks me in again almost in a teasing and evil manner.

At our failed attempts, I could hear him mutter a few curse words underneath his breath, "Damn it, Hamnett. I knew this thing was unstable."

Charles groaned, "I'm getting you, brat. Even if it means this could be my last breath."

[Scarlet Quinn]

A few days later.

I don't know why but I'm feeling a bit nauseous these few days. Recently I would feel dizzy and weak sometimes. But I've to fight it because I'm not losing to some mysterious disease or whatever it is I'm having. I rather die from falling a cliff than die to surrender to a disease.

I'm just glad that I don't need to wake up to a grumpy farmer with a shotgun in the morning.

The barn isn't a bad place after all. Despite maybe my shower quality was lacking, it wasn't that bad. The first few days were rough if I had to admit, as I was snacking on potato chips and planning on a strict diet so my snacks would last. The fact I'm making friends with the little critters here, they're interesting and a little fascinating. The creepy crawlies were just hairy and have big eyes.

No, I haven't lost my mind yet. I'm still conscious, I just don't look like it.

There were a few shattered glasses on the ground of the barn. I take a piece of the shattered glass to see my reflection. I slowly examine my physique. My hair was a bit messed up, a few strands were sticking out almost entirely everywhere. My lips look dry but I am hydrated enough with my supply of water bottles in the van. But my state today was the worst I've ever had in years, other than the times I got dirt on my face when I worked my butt off on the barn with Uncle Bobby. And I'm not saying that because I'm ugly.

My skin does look exceptionally pale than usual, however.

I place the shattered glass to where it belongs. I walk towards the haystack, basically dragging my legs and lay on it. I don't know why but suddenly I'm feeling a bit tired.

As I shift my body on my right, my lids felt heavy as it was closing. I yawn as my breathing turns at a slow pace.

Maybe a nap won't hurt.

STATUS: Edited.

Surprise update! I know it's been so long. I'm so sorry but I just don't have a proper schedule. I'm just one of those people who can't stick to a schedule. (Oops, haha)

But rest assure this book will finish whether I like it or not. Since D&D is a collaboration with one of my closest friends and as a matter of fact I promised her to finish this story, I will. Don't worry, I won't go back on my word. This book won't be a cliffhanger. (sighs in relief)

P.S: I write whenever I don't have writer's block or when I feel inspired. Trust me, when I don't have these issues I produce my best work.
