What's So Good About Picking Up The Pieces?

Chapter 8

    VIC'S P.O.V.

Aaliyah was in the ambulance car waiting for me to finish talking to the police. The officer started asking who hit who, who wants to press charges etc. I really didn't care I just wanted to go to the hospital with Aaliyah.  I finished answering the question as fast as I possibly could. When I was done a police officer drove me to the hospital where Aaliyah was. When I got there Aaliyah was crying and screaming holding her stomach. I ran to her crying. She immediately tried to will herself to stop crying. She couldn't though. She was crying hysterically and started to hyperventilate. I tried to tell her to calm down and breathe. She didn't listen and she blacked out.  I didn't know what to do.  I just cried. I ran to a doctor and asked them what had happened. All of them withheld the information because I wasn't family. I stayed by Aaliyah's side until she woke up.

"How are you holdin' up?" I asked desperately wondering if the baby was okay or not. I called Kellin and he was on his way.

"Uh-sniffle- well I won't be having a baby." she said with her voice cracking in between her sentence. I stayed strong for her because their is no one else there for her. I looked at her hopped into her bed and cuddled her. I hated that this was happening to her and will do anything to keep her mind off of it.

Soon enough Kellin was at the hospital and brought baby Cope. When I saw the baby I tried to signal him to take her away before Aaliyah saw her but, of course it was too late. Aaliyah took one look at the baby and started to sob. She asked to hold Copeland. Kellin replied with an of course and I knew that this couldn't be good for her.

Copeland climbed into her lap and looked at her stomach. Copeland gave a little smirk and kissed her tummy. Aaliyah cried a little and then stopped immediately. Kellin then realized that the baby probably isn't alive anymore. He asked me to take Cope. I picked her up and set her down next to the toys that Kellin had brought with him. He set his hands lightly on her stomach and started to sob.

Suddenly he gasps and he is laughing.

"IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU?!" Aaliyah asks surprised.

"No I felt it. I felt the fetus kick!"

"That's impossible you lying shit!"

Kellin says nothing and runs to get a nurse. The nurse came in and asked Aaliyah to lie back. She does and now the nurse is getting a doctor. The doctor comes in with an ultrasound machine thingy. Aaliyah is confused and is asking all sorts of questions. The doctor smiled and said

"I have some good news and I have some bad news."

"Good news first if you please." Aaliyah shouted back excitedly.

"Your baby is alive but, it needs to be delivered in two to four months no earlier or later. "
