Chapter 11

"That is fucking stupid! I cannot fucking believe you!" Maxim 'Kapkan' shouted at Jack 'Pulse'.
"Hey! It wasn't my fault that you were in the fucking objective and still managed to lose the hostage!"
Maxim punched Jack square in the cheek and he almost fell over, the large Russian stood up straight, waiting for the American to recover. Jack squared up to Maxim but he just punched him in the gut and his elbow landed on his jaw. Jack sprawled on the floor, holding his face. The room had gone silent, Gustave 'Doc' knelt by the side of Jack and tended to him.
"Urod..." Maxim cracked his knuckles and walked away, taking his hood and radio with him.
"That was interesting..." Bandit admitted, smiling "wish I had my camera then."
"Dominic, just shut up..." James said, shaking his head and grabbing his gas mask.

It's been a year since the GSG9 had joined Rainbow, they had all known each other well enough and it was time for new arrivals, four new organisations: Canadian JTF2, American Navy Seals, Brazilian BOPE and the Japanese SAT. The new operators were mostly kind, others not so much, some were boring and some were fun. It varied between the 8 new people.

Someone caught Bandits eye, a dark character. She was kind of scary but that didn't deter him. Dominic decided to introduce himself and welcome her and her... dad?
"Hallo-" He said one word and he was already sweating from nervousness, the woman with the black plaited hair turned towards Bandit. She raised an eyebrow.
"Ugh, who now?" She said angrily,
"Hey, I'm Dom. Welcome to Rainbow... where all your dreams come true" Dominic smirked, receiving a devilish grin from the woman
"Uh-huh, is that true?" She crossed her arms over her chest.
"You know it," Dom winked at her, not sure if that was the right thing to do or not. Her smile grew. It was the right thing.
"My name is Taina, otherwise known as Caveira," Taina stepped towards Dominic and held out her hand. Dominic shook her hand willingly and smirked.
"Pleasure to meet you, Taina. May I ask where you came from?" Bandit let go of her hand and shoved them in his jean pockets.
"If you must know, we came from Brazil."
"Brazil? Hm, long trip?" The woman nodded, "I'll leave you alone then, your day will probably start tomorrow at 0600 for a briefing. But, I'm not sure on that myself. I hope you enjoy your stay here at Team Rainbow Six." Bandit smiled like a child, Caveira smiled back.
"Thanks, I'll see you later, Dom" Taina gave him a little wave and turned around, grabbing her bags and joining the rest of the new operators.
"Why does she scare me so much... she's so sweet-" a thud and a sprawling Russian on the floor stopped Bandit. Caveira just decked Shuhrat!
"Blyat! You are one crazy bitch!" He laughed and painfully got up, only getting ignored this time.

Nobody noticed the Director enter the room, until he started clapping. Everyone went silent and looked at him, rapidly standing to attention.
"No no, don't stop. I was enjoying that. At least someone has the balls to fight the Spetsnaz." His lips formed an unsettling grin, "welcome to Rainbow. Here we take things very seriously and we get the best of the best to become world renowned heroes that fight terrorist extremism. We'll be showing all of you your rooms after this briefing." He paused, "I want all of you to get settled in and get used to the base, you're lucky you came on days where there isn't much to do. So... training starts in two days at 0600 on the dot. Do not be late or you will be made target practice. Understood? Good. Hall dismissed."

Everyone dispersed, Fuze was sent to the infirmary for a suspected broken rib. Bandit waited in the hallway but Caveira was already heading towards him.
"Dom, could you show me where my room is please? I don't know this place yet." She smiled sweetly, 'what kind of sorcery is this?' He though to himself whilst he nodded, smiling.
"Yeah of course, what's the key number?" He asked, standing up straight
"Uh..." she looked at the key, "1.3.2"
"Bizarre number... I think I know where it is. As the kindly gentleman I am, may I aid you in taking one of your bags for you?" Dominic asked, smirking and bowing slightly
"Oh, yes. Thank you." An evil smirk planted itself on Taina's face. This confused the German. She handed him one of her bags. He took it and realised it was ridiculously heavy, probably heavier than the weights he lifts.
"Ah yep, no problem..." he gripped the handle and walked towards the new rooms.

A new room system had been installed, one small room per operator. About half as good as the one that our favourite couple has on the floor above. Couples or families had the larger rooms on the second floor and singles had smaller places that still work. A small kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with a little living room. Cute.

The two arrived at room 1.3.2, Taina thanked Dominic for showing her the way.
"It would have taken me forever if I didn't get any help, thank you Bandido." She unlocked her door and opened it, looking in. Dominic put the bag he had just inside the door and said goodbye. "See you later, maybe?"
"Maybe," he smiled and walked away. 'Well... at least I know she can do that to large Russians on a meaty diet so I need to make sure that I don't piss her off.'

'Fuck' thought Marius as he walked to the task board, forgetting the piece of paper he was supposed to pin on it, 'I hate everyone and everything...' Jäger turned on his heel and started to quickly walk back to his apartment.
"Oh, hey Marius," Bandit came round the corner to his left "have you met any of the new ops?" Bandit stood in the hallway
"New ops?" Marius stopped in his tracks, raising an eyebrow towards his best friend. His friend nodded. "Hm, I'll see to it later, I've got something to do right now."
"Hey, Elias and I were thinking of going to the bar in town tonight, want to come with us?" Dominic smirked
"Hm... I'll see if Monika doesn't have anything planned-"
"Aw come on man, live a little." He nudged his shoulder
"No, I'm gonna ask and I'll get back to you on it, I'll see you later." Marius smiled at Dom, lightly punching his arm and walking away
"Yeah, see you... nerd..." Dominic shook his head and walked in the opposite direction.

Once Marius got the paper up, he made a large sigh of relief and stretched his arms. He yawned quietly, heading towards the mess hall to see if any of his friends were in there. To his surprise, about 4 or 5 new faces were in the hall. He looked around and picked out Elias and Seamus sitting together with one of the new operators. Marius decided to sit with them.
"May I sit with you?" Marius stood behind the bench, Elias looked up and smiled,
"Of course, Marius! Oh uh, this is Craig? Right?" Elias introduced the black-bearded man sitting next to Sledge. Craig nodded, holding a hand out to Marius
"Blackbeard, or Craig. Whichever you want. Nice to meet you,"
"Marius, Jäger. Nice to meet you too," Marius shook his hand. Firm grip, Marius noted.
"That's my Groupmate over there, Valkyrie, Meghan" Blackbeard pointed to a muscled blonde woman sitting with another stranger and Thermite. "She is... a scarily good hugger, she's much nicer than you think but uh... I must admit she can lift more than me." Blackbeard stared at the woman, fear clearly shown in his eyes {Valkyrie is honestly my favourite person/waifu/bae (Valkyrie = bae)}
"Uh... yeah, anyway... welcome to Rainbow."
"Thanks," Blackbeard smiled a little.

Marius later found out that Dominic has a massive crush on one of the new operators, thanks to a large amount of alcohol. Now Elias and Marius were made to promise they'd never tell anyone, almost as if it was one of those high school forbidden crushes. Dominic described it as him being the broken druggy trying to date the hottest most intelligent girl in the school an incredibly low chance of working but his devilish charm might just work on her (to which Elias agreed, he is pretty charming), Marius shrugged his shoulders and drank more of his pint.
"You know we're going to embarrass the fuck out of him when we see them together, right?" Asked Marius, leaning slightly towards Elias
"Oooooh, Yeah. Definitely." Elias grinned evilly, fist-bumping Marius. Dominic squinted his eyes and glared at the two scheming men, whom where laughing like Hyenas.

Marius came back to the base at about 2 in the morning, once he got back to the apartment, Monika was sitting on the sofa.
"Fuck..." Marius said under his breath,
"Mon, I'm sorry for being back this late, I didn't realise the time and I... maybe... had a few drinks..."
"Sure... I wasn't even worried," Monika twirled one strand of her fringe
"You... you weren't?" Marius stood there, confused
"No, of course not. I know that you can handle yourself and I know that Rainbow wouldn't dare let you leave without saying anything,"
"Ah... right... so if that's the case... I'm going straight to bed. Goodnight, mein Schatz," Marius kissed Monikas head, stumbling a little then regaining balance. He waddled into their bedroom and fell on the bed, instantly falling asleep.
