They were sitting on the same bench and looking at the far horizon.
The sun was about to set. The whole of the sky was painted in a light orange colour.
A bird or two, flew above.
It was the perfect canvas for any painter or photographer.
Anushka sighed and looked at Virat who was sitting next to her. He had an unreadable expression on his face.
"What are you thinking?" She asked.
"Why is it so hard for me to trust people?" He counter-questioned her.
"You trust me." She winked.
He didn't say anything because he knew she was right.
Anushka's face saddened suddenly.
"Will I forever be a wounded soul?" She asked him again.
"No." He replied in an instant. She looked at him being confused.
"I will mend and fix it."
He smiled. She smiled back.
Those words, they were not a promise.
It was something more to them. Something that was best left unsaid.
