Chapter 4

Kayla's POV

Ok, ok, I know how I was mad and all at Taylor, but he invited me to the park!

'uh sure I guess see you in 5minutes'

I texted back

"Hey I'm going to the park I'll be back in a couple hours" I said to my sister

I grabbed my penny board and skated down to the park about 2 blocks away from my house.

Taylor was leaned up against a light pole, on his phone.

"Hey" he said looking up from his phone

"Hi" I said slyly

I could already tell it was gonna get really awkward really fast.

"So is anyone else here?" I asked

"Nah I wanted to be alone. It's kinda personal."

"Ok"

"So I-I'm really really really sorry about earlier. See, I need to get all A's this year. I'm not that smart of a student, the agreement is that I get all A's and I can play baseball for a travel team"

"Mmhmn, but I just don't understand why you didn't do it. It was only a 4 paragraph assignment."

"I totally forgot about it. I promise it won't happen again..."

"If you still need help, I uh... Could tutor you sometime!"

"Yeah thatd be cool"

I looked at him and smiled

I know what you're thinking. 'He leans in and kisses me. It was so romantic'

Haha WRONG!

We actually started talking about school, the teachers, the kids, all that stuff.

(I would've preferred the kiss tho)

Taylor's POV

So I texted Kayla asking if she wanted to go the park.

I figured that she would like hanging out and it is a lot better to apologize in person.

I was texting Jack

'Find out if she likes me man! I need to know!' He said

'Whatever I'll try but no promises'

Once she came I apologized and I think we're cool now.

I have to admit I sorta was a douche about it in school earlier.

Then we had a nice convo about school and stuff.

I was gonna ask about Courtney or bring up Jack but it wasn't the right time.

She kept staring at my lips.

That made me sorta uncomfortable.

She was trying to hint that she wanted a kiss.

C'mon I'm not new here, I know when a girl looks at your lips she wants a kiss.

But I couldn't. No that wouldn't be right.

I don't have a girlfriend but I know Courtney knows me as a "douche who would make out with any girl at any time" and I want to change that.

So, kissing Kayla would've been wrong.

But don't get me wrong, I guess it would've been nice to get a smooch from Kayla. She is really pretty.

Anyway, all that matters is that we're cool now and she's not mad at me.

And who knows, she might be my tutor in the future....
