Chapter 1 - The New Boy

When Eli's parent's died he was tossed from foster home to foster home for various reasons, and he was made to be content with loneliness. So a week ago when my father, who was Eli's fathers best friend, decided to take him in I got to find out who the mysterious, dark boy called Eli Fullman was.

I sat stringing my fingers through eachother as I waited on the couch for Eli to arrive. I was a girl who liked to keep to myself, and although this was disturbing the easy-going atmosphere my dad and I had going I was still intruiged to see what Eli was like, as I hadnt seen him for a couple of years. He knocked on the door politely and I opened it to see a tall, well-built boy with brown hair and dark eyes. He gave me a nod and walked in as my father came in to greet him. I suddenly realised who he was. My friend Mark told me about how he got himself kicked out of school a couple of times when we passed him a while back.

"Hi, I'm Caprice." I held out my hand as he grasped it and he smiled tightly.

We sat down for dinner after the Eli put his bags in his room as my father tried to fill the silence by asking Eli a bunch of un-necessary questions. When we were done I went upstairs and took a shower and changed into my pyjama shorts and tshirt as it was summer and roasting outside. When I went downstairs to start a movie I found Eli already on the couch watching a movie. I grabbed a soda and put some popcorn in the microwave and headed into the sitting room to watch the movie.

"Wanna change it?" Eli asked as I shook my head and he turned back to the tv.

The movie finished after a while and I got up to go to bed as Eli followed suit. He didnt make any conversation as I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth until we said goodnight and headed for bed.

The next few days were the same until one night my dad told us he had to stay late at work.

"So whatcha doing tonight then?" Eli asked as I looked at him confused wondering why he cared.

"Um, no idea, I'll probably just watch a movie or something. You can go out though." I shrugged as he smiled at me.

"Well, can I invite the guys over? You can hang with us if you want, we'll probably just watch a movie or something" He said as he copied my words.

"Sure, might aswell." I laughed as he took out his phone and started texting.

When his friends arrived my face grew red as I realised they were the 'popular boys' in my year and I felt like I needed to put makeup on, like the girls they usually hung out with.

I made a couple of bowls of popcorn and brought them in to the guys as Eli came over and sat beside me.

"Cheers Caprice" the three guys said and started eating.

"What are we watching then?" I asked

"Paranormal Activity." Eli answered nonchalantly, smiling to himself.

I narrowed my eyes at him as I remembered clearly telling him that I hated scary movies when he first arrived.

"What?" He said as I elbowed him in the side.

When the movie finished I found myself burried into Eli's chest and my face flushed as I sat up. They started another movie as I retreated to my room and got ready for bed. After a couple of hours the guys left and I heard Eli go to bed. I wondered to myself why Eli had put on that movie but shoved the thought to the side and fell asleep.
