I took one last look at myself in the mirror; I wore my wavy hair down. My make-up was really light; despite the fact that I wanted to impress him, I didn't want him to think that I'm overdoing this meeting.

Woman's pride.

I wore a wool blend plaid coat, a one piece yellow dress, and a pair of flats, despite the hot weather. I can always take off my coat anytime I want, can't I? and besides, I really really like this coat. Tiis ganda. A few more minutes of staring in the mirror, finally, I smiled at myself in satisfaction.

Hell yeah, I'm gorgeous.

Well I had to be. Aside from the fact that I work from a fashion magazine, I'll be meeting the man of my life, how can I waste this opportunity? I took a deep breath and muttered a 'Ganda ko!' and winked at myself before I left the ladies room.

I was already in NAIA Terminal 3;waiting to board the plane. Ugh. As if I had any other choice. I hate plane rides, never got used to it. I looked at my watch; it's only 9:00 am in the morning. Before lunch, I'll be in Bicol. Plus 1 hour travel time to our meeting place. Hmm Say we'll get to see each other at 1 pm.

Right. 1 o'clock.

I took off my coat because it was starting to get hot. "Shucks, basa na kili-kili ko." I muttered to myself. Damn, what's taking that plane so long? I was playing with my phone when I received a call from no other than my best friend Ella.

"Hey Ell-"

"HOY!" Her voice was so loud that I had to put my phone away from my ear. "I'm at your apartment right now and Alex said you're already at NAIA! Nababaliw ka na ba? Don't tell you're really going to that stupid place because that stupid promise?! Pupunta ka talaga ng Bicol!?" she shouted, rather than asked me. I swear I can almost see the fire coming out from her nose.

"Good morning to you too." I told her sarcastically, "Ella, first of all, I'm not going to a stupid place. I'm going to Bicol. And second of all, it's not a stupid promise."

"Oh yeah it's not; It's waaay beyond stupidity." I rolled my eyes at her remark; if she wasn't my bestfriend, I would've traveled all the way back to my place and punch her in the nose. "Nababaliw ka na ba? It's Christmas!"

"I know. Merry Christmas."

"Carly, please come back here. I know you're sometimes an idiot, but not today please. Para kang timang. Bumalik ka na dito."

"Can't. Nakabili na ako ng ticket."

"Carly."

"Really. I can't. Pasakay na ko ng plane." I lied.

"CARLOTA VI-"

"Shh!" I cut her off before she can say my full name. Gosh, I hated that name. "Ella. You know how long I waited for this day to come. 8 years Ella. 8 years! I'll be meeting him finally, okay? Suportahan mo nalang ako please? Kahit ngayon lang?"

"Di mo nga siya kilala eh! Umaasa ka dyan sa promise nyo. A promise you made when you were kids!"

"Correction, we were 13. Teens. We were already teens."

"and you're 21 now. You know better than that."

I sighed, "Yes. I'm old enough to decide for this."

"You're too old for that kind of crap." I can feel the irritation in her voice, "Di kaba natatakot? You can't even remember his face."
