Chapter 14: Jennifer | Thanksgiving Day! Part 2
Title: Thanksgiving Day! Part 2
POV: Jennifer
Everyone is here in my house, my mom, my brother and relatives. Mom has prepared a Thanksgiving Turkey. Yep, it’s kind of a tradition to our family. Relatives coming here to celebrate with us. Isn’t it cute? But somehow, I’m longing for someone. He’s not here. He’s avoiding me, and I want to know why. I don’t understand why he’s avoiding me, and I’m pretty sure I haven’t done anything wrong to him. “Jennifer Keller Cavill, come here! Meet your cousin!” My mom yells over the kitchen, and I quickly go there. Half walking, half jogging.
When I get there, I see a young lady. She whips her head to me, and a smile is tugging in her lips. She has blonde hair, cascading curls, just like mine (although I dyed my hair brown). And she’s wearing a black leggings patterned with red claw design, a black jacket covering her white tank top. She’s wearing a black four inch high heels. Damn, this girl has a sense of fashion! She’s so pretty without even trying, without an effort. And she’s glowing too. I think she’s a year older than me, though. Even though she has a blonde hair, she resembles mom. Her eyes are brown. Her eyelids are lightly damped with pink. She smiles at me and I shake her hand. “Cashmere Keller.” She says to me. Her voice is sweet and lovely, and her breathe smells like a sweet candy. Her smile is genuine and so pure. Her hair is on her left shoulder, at the top of her right head, her hair is pinned and in a small braid.
“Jennifer Cavill.” I introduce myself to her. Then a guy bursts out suddenly I jump. Cashmere snaps her hair, looking at the guy. Her hair whips, and it flies to her right. God, she looks like a freaking hair model! The guy looks at me, and his eyes hit mine. He has a hazelnut eyes, and it catches me off guard. He’s tall, maybe 6’3? I bet this guy is taller than Azariah. And… he’s holding a baby. Aww, he’s such a cutie. I notice he’s muscled body, and I quickly look away because it’s starting to be a staring contest and I just smile at him.
“Hi.” He says. His voice is deep and husky, it sends a cute rhyme in my ears and I smile at him. “My name’s Zane. Zane Maxon Williams.” I shake his hands and introduce myself.
“Hello. I’m Jennifer Cavill,” I say with too much enthusiasm. “Well, I’m guessing you’re one of my cousins. You’re such a cutie.” I pinch his cheeks. “Mom, why do this family have such a very good genes?”
“Um,” says Zane, looking awkward. Cashmere just laughs, and I laugh too. Zane is still looking at me, unable to explain the awkwardness. “I’m, uh, not a, uh, one of your cousins.” What? My smiling face breaks into a poker face. I raise my eyebrow at him. “I’m, uh, her boyfriend.” Zane points at Cashmere, and she bursts out laughing. Heat floods my cheeks and I don’t know what to say because I just pinched his cheeks and I shouldn’t have done that because he’s not my cousin and I assumed he was my cousin which is not because he’s the boyfriend of Cashmere, my real cousin. OhSoGosh, what have I done? I run a hand through my face, and offers Zane a peace sign. He laughs, and shakes his head. I give a ‘I’m very sorry’ smile. And he nods, as if he’s reading my smile.
“’S Okay.” He says.
“Next time, sweety. Just ask a person and don’t pinch their cheeks. Kay?” My mom says suddenly. Woop, thanks mom. Thank you for your support, really. I’m glad that I have you. Note the sarcasm, please? I poke the baby in his hands softly and the baby giggles. Aww, such a cutie patootie. It’s a boy! I look at Cashmere and she mouths ‘my brother’ to me, she nods her head to me. Signaling that I can hold the baby. I grab the baby softly in Zane’s arms and he gives it to me, supporting me. I look at the baby and he has a blue eyes! The baby smiles at me, and he looks so happy to be with me.
