Trigger warning: it's not severe but includes abusive parents.Be home by 5pm, it's not five yet, I have plenty of time, I'm fine, its ok, Beverly. She said to herself. The feeling of relief was not something she felt often. Not around anyone, especially her father.

Every hit hurt more than the other. They weren't any harder or stronger, nor was there more force, it just hurt more, but they didn't hurt physically. They hurt mentally, and although the bruises and small cuts say differently she couldn't feel a thing. She was lost in her mind. Though through all the suffering, Beverly was made out of stone and refused to let a warm tear drop drip down her check. She wouldn't let it happen. And although it's not, Beverly saw herself crying as a weakness. She wouldn't let herself crack. But it only takes an small amount of pressure to make a stone crack.
"I said 4pm, Beverly."
The grip he had on her wrist tightened as her heart skipped a beat. He said 5pm, she was sure of it.
She struggled to breath.
"I-I though, y-y-you said five, daddy."
"This reckless behaviour is too much, are you still my little girl, Bevie?"
"Yes, daddy."
And once again, the stone didn't break.
School wasn't a safe place either. There is no safe place. She has no safe place. And that thought was one darkness that always chased Bev.
She sat through the hours of listening to teachers talking about things she thought was surely not ever going to help her in life. She endured through the lonely breaks, the friendless breaks. Until finally she could relax the only way she knew how. She trudged her way to the bathroom and took out her pack of cigarettes, lighted one and placed it in her mouth. As she inhaled the smoke all thoughts slipped her mind, letting her lungs fill with smoke. She took deep breaths.
BANG
Greta, the schools biggest bitch, kicked Beverly's toilet stall.
Beverly jumped a little, she was not in the mood for this.
"Are you in there by yourself beaverly? Or do you have half the boys in the school with you, ha slut?"
Annoyed, Beverly murdered her cigarette by pressing it against the wall of the bathroom stall. She wouldn't be able to enjoy it anymore.
"I know your in there, little shit, I can smell you. No wonder you don't have any friends."
"Which is it Greta, am I a slut or a little shit. Make up your mind."
"Your trash"
All Beverly could now hear was the irritating sound of Greta's voice and the slushing of something, but she didn't know what it was.
"We just wanted to remind you." Greta Smirked.
Beverly lifted her bag and frowned as she felt rubbish that had been soaked splash over her head. Greta and her side kick bitches had filled the bin with water and poured it into her stall.
"At least now you'll smell better, lets go girls." Greta laughed.
The girls were mumbling things like "argh, gross" and giggling as they walked out. She didn't care. She didn't fucking care.
