I pulled away from him. My heart is pounding and my head is racing. I looked up to Luke, he is out of breath as well.
"Promise me I'm the only one." he asks me again, desperate for the words.
"I promise." I looked into his eyes as I answered him and he smiled back to me.
"I promise I will end things with Allyssa. It will be so soon, I can't leave her in her situation right now." he explains.
"I understand." I told him with honesty dripping on my tongue. I showed him a genuine smile and he smiled back.
He kissed my forehead and I can't help but smile. "I love you," he whispers.
"I love you too." I answered him and he hugged me.
He tells me that he loves me. Not in past tense. But in present tense. Not in -ed form.
"Luke, your mum is here!" we heared mum yelled downstairs and I nodded to him.
We went downstairs, his arms around my waist, as if I'm going somewhere.
"Hi Aunt Liz," I greeted Luke's mum with a smile and kissed her cheek.
"Looking good today." she complimented and I simply smiled at her in gratitude. I sat down between mum and dad on the next couch.
"Where are they?" Luke asks his mother and sat down next to her.
"They're at the house. I'm just checking on you, but if you want to go ho-"
"I'm staying with Danielle before they leave." he said while looking at me.
"Okay," his mother smiled at him. "Well, I'm going to leave. Just go home if you want to." Aunt Liz said as she stood up. Luke nodded and I waved her goodbye.
"We are going up." I told mum when Aunt Liz already left.
"Okay," she smiled at us and we go back to my room.
"Danielle," Luke breathed as he closed the door and I turned to him. "I promise to end things up with Allyssa if you are willing to wait." he looked at me in the eyes.
I walked to him and held his face to look at me.
"I promise. But don't take it any longer okay? I'm not that patient." I teased and he smiled.
"Yes. I promise." he said and leaned down to kiss the tip of my nose. "I love you so much Danielle. I've waited for years just to tell you this."
"I love you more Luke." I simply replied. "Well, I waited for ages too just to tell you that." I smiled and laughed quietly.
We stood there in the doorway and stared at each other in silence. My hands are still on his cheeks and his hands are wrapped around my waist.
His face slightly tilted and moved directly to my lips. His breath fanned my face and I waited for his lipe to land on mine.
A knock on my door interrupted us and I quickly moved back. Luke rolled his eyes while opening the door.
"Dani, I'm- oh," I heard Mike's voice and I looked at the door. "Did I interrupted you?" he said. His tone, surprised.
"Oh, no. What made you come here?" I walked to the doorway.
"I was just going to erm, you know. Pick you up and Aunt Gemma and Uncle Chip too." he explained.
"It's too early." I mumbled.
"I know. But mum is too excited for the three of you to come to our house and she cooked early. She wants me to pick the three of you up. But if you want to stay with-" I cut him off.
